Hi
I will start off by saying I did not read EVERY post but skimmed through- if I step on toes cause I didn't read it- sorry.
First. Cassidy does really love the show, and our guy, but because she came on board during the first 3 seasons- these last 2 are "fluffly" and "vacuous" (which I just mispelled i'm sure).
I happen to agree that these seasons have suffered, and I'm peeved BECAUSE I feel they are shortchanging these characters that I love.
All I watch are cop shows, really. IF you watch and compare say the first 2 parts of the Blood Brothers bit, and see the last part where ERic gets shot- it doesn't compare. I was sitting on the seat worried that they would catch the stinkers in the first 2.
Clavo would never and have simply walked up and let H shot him, he'd have turned himself into a sucide bomber with a vest or car anything to hurt H or his team- knowing that hurting a member of the team would hurt H.
But what i see most is a glossing over of what makes this show, and espically Horatio, my favorite. They talked about real problems, and H always came accross and dedicated, intense, caring and most of all FOR THE VICTIM AND THE FAMILIES. He's been there, and knows how it feels. There is more grandstanding and less caring about the victims. The shift has also become "let's watch their personal life" and not how their dedication to their jobs affect those personal lives- not for the better either.
So Cassidy and I are grumping because we love this show, these characters and want them respected. If we didn't care, there would not be any fussing. And we are all here cause we love this guy, but no 2 humans get along all the time, or agree so please allow someone to think differently- we are not attacking anyone just venting.
There is one other thing I see, because I have now seen all the CSI and CSI Miami shows way more than once. (gee seasons 1-3 of Miami at least 10 times each). The craft and care in CSI is not there In Miami, which it was at first. Zuiker (my feelings not fact here) does not feel the same way about Miami as CSI. He has only written 1 epi (with mendelson and donahue) for MIami, but he has written a handfull (by himself) of CSI. Also I saw recently an early NY and it was written by Zuiker, by himself, and i want to know why he doesnt give our show some of that nuturing. Being a writer- thats' how he connects with a show.
And honestly I'm peeved that our show is not as critticly (crap, spelling again) aclaimed as CSI. Espcially since our people are so much better (and sexier!)
