Challenge # 53 Horatio/Patriot Theme Starting Saturday 14th February 2009 to Saturday 6th March 2009 PLEASE NOTE.... This is set as a three week challenge because I thought it would take some time to come up with ideas and to put together some walls in this category. But, if you feel this is too long as we go along......just let me know and I will make some adjustments. Have fun everybody.....and for the newcomers everything is allowed.....wallpapers, banners, avatars, poems, drawings.......whatever you can come up with. Margaret ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When this topic came up in our discussions Sandra asked for The Netherlands to be included........so this is where I start. As I do not know an awful lot about the history of the Netherlands I have approached this on the lines of what they are well known for and I am sorry about the wooden shoes Sandra ;D So two for you Sandra.......hope you like. Now one showing one of the UK's historical hero's with the same christian name of Horatio. Margaret

When my daughter and I visited the Netherlands, we came home with a pair of wooden shoes. So why apologize? Horatio tip-toeing through the tulips is very pretty and combining Miami's Horatio with Great Britain's is perfect. Remember 'Dead Woman Walking'? She had her own comparison and that was English, too.

@margaret: no need to appologize.......it's fabulous....both of them......gonna show hubby when he's downstairs.......Stupid me not to think of the Amsterdam Canals, that's a great add......guess I didn't come up with that because I'm always afraid if I mention Amsterdam, people immediatly come up with the Red Light District, and Amsterdam is so much more than that....... @karen: I asked Margaret to leave them out merely because I never wear them ....but you are right (and so was Margaret in using them anyway), they are one of the things The Netherlands is known for, a symbol of our country and therefor they fit perfectly well in this wp and I'm glad Margaret didn't listen to me....... P. S. Love the moonlit background with the planets. But what's on John Kelly's cheek?

Great walls Lindy.....love them all. You have covered the Roo's how about doing one with a Koala Bear.....pleeeaaaase.
@ Karen........I think you will find that it is the Australian Flag on John Kelly's cheeks.

Putting a temporary tatoo of the flag on the cheek is popular when we go to an international sports event like the tennis Open. Koala will be on the way!

Yes, I see that now. It looked like dominos the first time I saw it. Now that I know what I'm looking at, I can see the flag quite clearly. Thank you.

The 1st batch is wonderful, especially the ones with the moon/planets background. The ones with the kangaroo are very sweet. Of the 2nd 2 especially the 1st one is very intense and makes me feel the sadness, terror and loss you 'Aussies' are going through right now even more. I will hold you in my thoughts and while being in church today I will send my prayers up for you. Sandra
