Chris, agree with you...But, whatever you read , that issue re NYPD comes up. I just ignore that nonsense because there are many of us that have left or wanted to leave a job thinking we deserved better. It just shows you how good he was and what an impact he made on the television audiences..........Yes, he was going to be missed but everyone has the right to try and better themselves.

Please don't get me started on another NYPD Blue rant. I've already had one this week. For goodness sake, all he really did is make a career choice (good or bad). It's been 12 years! Why can't they let it go? sigh... I really feel sorry for him sometimes when the press just can't resist throwing that up at him after all this time. C

You are right Carol: why don't they leave it behind and focus on everything he does right now? That p**ses me off. Anyway I printed the article and read it later 'cause I have to go to work in a few minutes. Thnx for the link

Thank you for the nice link. *sigh* Why the h**l we never get such an interesting and long article in Germany? Here, CSI Miami is the leading show on prime-time TV every Tuesday with very constant viewers. And these viewers don't even care about whether the ep is a re-run or not, the quotes just stay constantly very high, either (source: TV Movie, Feb 07). That's what Germany really is like: no support for things that work and never caring about the fans.

It's the same here Sundancer. In my area they are even talking about getting RTL5 (they air the show here) off cable. If they do I won't be able to watch it anymore. They had over 2500 complaints about that stupid idea. Waiting now what they will decide......they haven't come up with anything yet. I sure hope they won't go on with this.....

Carol, I am sorry I didn't mean to wind you up. Ignoring the NYPD reference I genuinely thought it was a good article re the history of his career moving into CSI Miami.
This article is 6 years old now however so hopefully they have let the matter drop by now. In any event I agree they should have let the the matter drop a long long time ago. He deserves a break...He suffered more than anyone should have had to in the circumstances. I did try to clarify my own personal thoughts third message from the top.
Hope you are nice and calm now. Margaret

I keep wondering why we are paying attention to 'yesterday's news?' It was interesting as an article written six years ago but it was written SIX YEARS AGO! that's what they thought then, and this is now. Done, over with, let's move on, shall we?
As an archival curiosity to origin of some remarks, this is interesting but only as that.

It is possible they will get RTL 5 of your cable Sanne, and then give you the choice of paying for it. I have Casema and heard nothing like that.
The NYPD story? well I don't know about you ladies, but it turned out to be the best move he made....who else should play our favorite Lieutenant?.....EXACTELY NO ONE!!

In more recent times, most of us were really thrilled about the article in the Feb. issue of Cigar Aficianado. The NYPD Blue angst is discussed in that article, too. It will probably be with DC forever. I wish I could cite the article in which Mr. Caruso states that the NYPD stuff used to be the first thing newspeople would ask about, then after awhile it dropped to 2nd or 3rd and now it has dropped even further. Sounds like he actually counts the questions to see how "far down" the NYPD Blue questions have dropped. It's my belief that he has weathered this storm quite well. His answers seldom vary anymore so writers should get tired of hearing the same old tune. I have a book titled True Blue: The Real Stories Behind NYPD Blue written by David Milch and Det. Bill Clark, both of NYPD Blue fame. If you want the lowdown from someone else's perspective, this will provide that. My conclusion? During contract discussions after that first year, there was more than one ego present in the negotiating process. DC was simply out of his league. Don't read the book if you only want to know David's side of the story.
