chap three coming up! not long now until we find who is at the door! ;D luv sam x
It was nearly 3 o’clock in the afternoon. Horatio pulled up in his hummer outside a modest sized house. He climbed out and looked towards the front door. Ray Jr was walking out of the house towards the removal van that was parked just in front of the hummer. Horatio walked to the open gate, “hey son, are you okay?” Ray Jr looked to where the voice was coming from, “oh hello Horatio, what are you doing here? I thought you’d be working.” “What kind of a greeting is that to your uncle?” “Sorry, I just wasn’t expecting you to be here that’s all.” Horatio smiled at the young man stood in front of him, “when your mother said that you guys were moving in today, I had to come and see for myself. Besides, I thought you might need an extra hand.” “I’m sure mom wouldn’t mind.” Horatio took off his jacket and laid it over the fence and went with Ray towards the removal van and between them carried the dining table into the house, “you’re mom tells me that you got into law school.” “Yeah, cool eh?” Horatio smiled to himself, “yes it is ‘cool’. Congratulations.” “Thanks, I can’t wait to get started.” “I bet you can’t. I hope you do well there,” they put the table down in the dining room, “your mom has gone to a lot of trouble to get you here, including leaving her job and life behind.” “I know, I have taken that into consideration. Don’t worry, I will make sure I work I disagree off. I really want to do this.” “I should hope you’ll ‘work your ass off’”, Yelina had been listening to their conversation just outside the room. “Mom, it’s rude to listen into other peoples conversations.” Horatio’s heart skipped a beat at the sound of her voice, “Ray, can you go fetch the chairs for the table? I’ll be there to help you in bit.” Ray did as he was told and left the room. “He’s right you know,” Horatio teased. Yelina smiled, “I couldn’t help it, I heard you coming in with Ray. I came to see what you were up to. Besides, shouldn’t you be at the lab?” “I’m sure my team can run the place for a couple of hours on their own. We are entitled to a break every now and then.” “But you never take a break until the bad guys caught,” Yelina couldn’t resist winding him up. “People do change.” “Not you Horatio,” Yelina smiled. Horatio looked towards his feet to hide the sudden shyness that came over him, “well, I can go if you want.” “Don’t be silly, I’ll get some drinks sorted. Would you like a cold one? I haven’t unpacked anything to make coffee with yet.” “An orange juice would be just fine.” Yelina left he room as Ray came in with a dining chair in each arm. “Mom is right, you don’t change. You’re a creature of habit.” “So now who is being rude and listening into other peoples conversations?” “Sorry, I only caught the last bit when bringing these into the house,” Ray put the chairs down near the table, “mom will sort them out. She likes things to be just right. She’s a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to furniture in the house. She’ll be ordering us around later, telling us where things should be.” Horatio laughed, “she’s not that bad.” “You don’t have to live with her,” Ray protested. “Come on, let’s get the rest of this furniture brought in.” They both went out to the van to fetch more furniture in.

Well Sam I don't actually think it matters who's going to be on the door because when " Horatio’s heart" is either " skipped a beat" or "melt" when he listens to Yelina's voice... oh you get my point! Let's see what the future holds! Anastasia

Hmmm don't really know what to say to be honest.
I'm sure Ray can make a good lawyer and if he's as stubborn as his uncle, he will work very hard for his studies.

its nearly midnight here in the uk and the baby that im looking after is wide awake crying and then gargling to herself and has been for the last half hour! no early night for me then! so in my tired state (i was hoping for an early night, yeah right) i decided to post the next chap up as i don't know if i'll get on here tomorrow! here is chap 4 (if i get time i might just post chap 5 tomorrow then you'll find out who is at the door but we will see if i can get on here first) luv sam x An hour later, all of Yelina's and Ray’s possessions had been off loaded from the van and the van with the removal men had gone. Horatio sat on the front step looking at the remaining boxes on the lawn. Yelina sat next to him. “Thanks for today Horatio, we both appreciate it.” “That’s okay,” Horatio leant back on his arms feeling rather tired out, “where is Ray?” “He’s sorting out his bedroom just the way he wants it,” she paused for a moment, “Horatio?” Horatio could hear the anxiety in her voice and sat forward, “what’s wrong?” “I don’t know, I guess I’m worried about when he starts university and if he’ll fit in.” Horatio smiled, “he will be just fine. He makes friends easily, although I have wondered about his choice in friends in the past but he’ll be okay.” “I’m not worried about that, I know he’ll make friends easily. It’s just that…” she paused to think about what she was going to say. “Yelina, what is it?” “It’s just that I’m worried about if our family history will catch up with him at college. If any of the other students find out about his father and his past. Then there’s you and me, we don’t exactly have a perfect past.” “Yelina, no-one is perfect. I know I haven’t handled things right in the past and I’m sure I will handle things badly in the future. We’re only human, we all make mistakes.” “I certainly did when it came to Rick,” there was a sadness in her voice. Horatio sat closer to Yelina and put his arm round her to comfort her as she laid her head on his shoulder, “that’s all in the past now. Let’s not go there, okay?” Yelina nodded her head and put her hand on his knee to lever herself up to her feet, “I can make that coffee now if you want.” “That would be nice,” Horatio’s beeper went off, “excuse me a minute.” He took out his phone and dialled a number, “Eric, what’s up?” Yelina stood watching Horatio talking on the phone. When he finished, he walked towards Yelina, “can I take a rain-check on that? I have to go.” “Sure, no problem.” “Are you going to be okay carrying all of these boxes into the house?” “I think I can manage a bit of hard labour,” Yelina flashed a smile Horatio’s way. “Okay, just make sure you get Ray to help out. Tell him if he doesn’t help you, I will be seeing him later,” Horatio joked as he put on his jacket. “I will do. Just take care of yourself, Horatio.” “I will, if you needed anything…” “I know. You’d better get off before Eric wanders where you’ve got to.” Horatio climbed into his hummer and headed towards the lab.

I'm sure that Ray will work hard for his studies and I really hope that people will treat him for who he is and not his father was... And about the wrong friends.. I guess he has learned his lessons more than once. I'm quite positive when it comes to Ray.

Some nice family time. So who is going to be at the door? Ray, because he needs some advice from Horatio after all.......or Yelina, because she needs a shoulder to lean on and has some re awakened feelings to deal with. OR, is it going to be a real surprise? Can't wait for the next chapter to find out.

as promised i have the next chap here for you! there is one question that you all want answering and that is 'who is at the door?' well now is the time to find out! enjoy luv sam x
After the long day at the lab of sifting through debris from an explosion, Horatio was ready to relax. He sat on his sofa and kicked off his shoes and slouched back into the cushions. He tilted his head back, resting it on the back of the sofa and closed his eyes. He started to think about Yelina and Ray Jr. He was glad to have them back in Miami.
He opened his eyes and went upstairs to the bathroom and ran a bath. He needed to chill out and relax his weary muscles. His shoulders felt tense and his back ached from leaning over the evidence table. He had been piecing together a bomb from the explosion for most of the day. When the bath was just right, Horatio stripped off and got into the hot bath. It felt so much better. He was nearly dozing off when he heard a knock at the door. Horatio considered ignoring it, his brain told him to answer it as it rude not to. But his body said stay right there in the bath. He eventually decided to go with his brain and got out, wrapped a towel round his waist and went down the stairs to answer the door. He opened the door slightly, no-one was there. “Oh Horatio, I thought you’d gone to bed.” Horatio opened the door a bit more, his stomach tightened. Yelina was stood waiting to see him. He looked down to the towel wrapped round his waist and felt rather embarrassed, but not as much as Yelina was seeing him half naked. “Oh sorry I didn’t know you were in the…” “Bath? I’ve just run it.” “Oh right, I’ll come back tomorrow.” Horatio opened the door wide, “don’t worry, I’ll just add some more hot water. Come in.” Yelina walked through the front door, trying her best to keep her eyes to herself. “Make yourself at home, I’ll be back in a minute,” Horatio darted upstairs, put on a pair of jogging bottoms and a t-shirt and went back down the stairs. Yelina was looking at Horatio’s DVD collection. “What’s up?” Yelina spun round to see a more fully clothed Horatio staring at her with a concerned look on his face. “Nothing, Ray has gone to his mate’s house to camp out in the garden. His first night in Miami and he spends it away. I just thought you might like some company.” “You mean you don’t want to spent the evening on your own in a strange house?” Horatio knew Yelina too well. “Am I that easy to read?” “That and I know you well enough. Have you had anything to eat?” Yelina shook her head, “I’ve been busy all day, only had a little bit to eat.” “Well, we can order in if you want?” “Sounds like a plan, just nothing too spicy. I can’t eat spicy food at this time of night.” “Chinese then,” Horatio approached Yelina and reached round her, “excuse me, I’ve just got to get the phone.” “Oh right,” Yelina moved and sat on the sofa so Horatio could get to the phone and call for some food.
