TARGET SPECIFIC: Early this week. Watched this episode two hours ago. Was looking forward to this one as I remember those pictures so well that were posted on the board of Horatio and the malevolent smiles he gave Sarnoff in the prison scene.
The story starts with a woman (Megan) returning home, hearing someone in the house, getting her gun, and being stabbed several times by the intruder. She is weak, but manages to take a shot at him as he is leaving, and manages to dial 911. When Horatio arrives she just has the strength to see him……standing there; not uttering a word, just looking at her. A perfect place for a one liner….but, we didn’t get one.
Ryan goes outside and we have a very nervous Ryan trying to stay clear of a barking dog straining at the leash to get at him. Ryan finds a knife in the garden, and arranges for someone to pick the dog up to get it away from the crime scene.
Meanwhile Horatio goes to talk to Megan who has now woken up, and following their conversation Calleigh goes back to the crime scene, but is herself attacked by the same person as Megan was. Nasty scene this, I didn’t like to see that plastic bag over her face. However, the intruder hears the police sirens and makes his escape.
The team eventually realise that all the burglaries have one thing in common….their personal trainer. When picking him up, a photographer is spotted up a tree and arrested for trespassing, but this is when we realise something more sinister is going on…the team find a whole load of pictures of themselves…..having been watched at various times and places. As the photographer mentions to Eric he knows his father it seems the Russians are involved. This is all being orchestrated by Sarnoff from prison. Horatio visits him in prison and that is when we get the malevolent smiles from him. No love lost between these two.
Blood evidence taken from the dog’s collar leads them to Megan’s attacker; he is arrested and placed in a car, when Calleigh sees a flash or something and tells them all to duck. They are all okay, but the culprit in the car was shot dead.
Following this Ryan is kidnapped and takes a bit of a beating on which note the episode finishes…….so more on this next week.
Actually, Ryan had some good scenes in this episode, and we saw some nice inter play between the team generally. And it was nice to see a bit more of Horatio this week as well, and he was he was in fine form. A good episode overall.
