Jumping in here on this episode. It's been a while since I saw it but the one thing that really stuck in my mind was when H picked up the tooth with his bare hand. Don't they carry a spare glove in their pocket? Or what about H's ever handy hanky? I know he wasn't worried about contaminating the evidence but....yuk!

One more thing......I know there was an earlier discussion about the lack of postings. I'm guilty as charged. I come in just about every day and lurk around. I'm kind of shy and usually keep comments to myself although I love to read what everyone else has to say. I don't even think I ever introduced myself. Anyway....actions like mine do not help to generate discussions and I promise....from this day forward....with my hand on my favorite picture of Horatio....that I will do my best to be more vocal in future posts.

Don't worry Jewelz, we weren't "attacking" anyone in particular, just noticing.....We know real life can be very demanding sometimes and we also know not everyone is able to voice their thoughts in a message out on the board. It's merely a learning-process (ask Gonsy, she knows all about it Just teasing you Gonsy....), but we would be very happy to get more input, not only from the members in Europe who just recently saw the epi's we're discussing at the moment, but also from those who've already seen these epi's earlier on (like members from the USA or Canada). Would be nice to read how you look back at them. Everyone's opinion counts and everyone's input is of equal importance and value for the discussion. Sandra

Welcome aboard Jewelz. Very nice to read your comments on this episode, and interesting point you made about Horatio picking up that tooth. It was a bit YUK, but I guess no big ordeal for him as he sees some very horrific sights in his line of business.
Hope to see more of you around. Thank you for deciding to participate in this thread.

Hey, managed to watch " DIVORCE PARTY" on time this week....My comments.......
DIVORCE PARTY…….So Julia raises her head in this one. As usual, the incompetent mother shows a complete lack of responsibility. She encourages Kyle to drive fast to get her to an interview on time, causing Kyle to be pulled over by the cops, and as a result in trouble with Horatio. But, as Kyle’s driving could have ended up killing someone…Horatio takes the matter into his own hands and arranges for Kyle to be taught a lesson. He places him with Tara in the morgue, to learn what the result of a car accident can cause. Kyle is of course sick when Tara starts to open up the body, but after that seemed to be happy enough to be working in the morgue. However, some evidence goes missing……some tablets, and when Horatio questions her Tara sort of suggests to Horatio that Kyle was responsible, although it came to light that Julia had visited Kyle and she therefore came under suspicion and the scrutiny of Horatio. He has had enough now and he told her Kyle was no longer her responsibility. However, this seems to have been unfair, because Tara was seen with the bottle of tablets at the end of the episode…so I guess more to come on this scenario. I don’t like Julia at all……..but, fair is fair.
The main plot in this episode commenced with a Divorce Party for Amy, which turned into a crime scene when her ex husband ( Roger) suddenly fell through the gazebo having been hanged…….this ultimately turned out to be a murder crime scene. The story was that Roger, was married to two women and was leading a double family life .His first wife knew him by the name of Trent. He had a son and a daughter who happened to meet and fall in love not knowing they were related, and then the daughter fell pregnant….they told the father and he was not happy so they jointly decided to murder their father.
Not much of a plot but I enjoyed anyway. Loved the scenes between Horatio and Kyle……..Dad looking out for his son always good to watch and at the very end we see Horatio has given Kyle his own apartment.........hopefully out of the clutches of Julia. We will see.

I remember the epi, but can't say I liked the plot that much either.....the whole thing about a divorce-party seemed a bit odd to me. But especially the Kyle-Horatio-time was really nice. Sandra

I remember thinking that Kyle got a pretty nice apartment for such a young kid. I like to think that Horatio lives nearby.
Good going, Margaret. Keep up the good work!

Good show -very shocking start.Plot was thin-I can see that the kids felt desparate but this was a planned murder, they would have had time to think things through a little better. The father was now outed as a bigamist-with his credibility as an authority figure shot, the kids were in a good position to stand up to him and keep the baby. The H/Kyle moments were lovely.Still very restrained but H seems to be gaining in confidence as a father and standing up to Julia better.I remember that the appartment was a big issue on the boards at the time. Most people thinking that Kyle was too young and should live with his Dad.I think I agree with that viewpoint-H seems to be giving his son a lot of responsibility all at once. Also how does he afford such a nice place? Just one of Miami's mysteries that will probably never be explained. Looks like time is running out for Tara.Have TPTB ever explained what happened here?Do you think this character was only meant to last a season or they wrote her out because of all the flak she was getting on the boards? Personally,I found her convincing as an ME.Her detachment and business-like manner were appropriate for the job. The actress wasn't given much of a chance -Khandi was a really hard act to follow!

Julia....Julia.....Julia.....Don't you just want to grab her and shake some sense into her? Horatio has given her every chance and this is how she repays him! Concerning Kyle's new place, for just a split second, I thought this was Horatio's home and he was inviting Kyle to move in with him. No such luck....I guess we will never see Horatio's abode....he must just pitch a tent on the beach. By the way....was that a town house, condo or apartment that he handed over to Kyle. I'm sure Kyle can't afford it on his own which makes me wonder if Horatio is renting it for Kyle or maybe he purchased the place as an investment property and Kyle pays him what he can afford.

@jewelz: We have the same thoughts regarding Kyle's new digs. Sometimes I like to think that it is a duplex and Kyle lives on one level with Horatio living on the other. But we'll never know. We have had 5 new episodes in season 8 and not one mention of either Kyle or Julia. I am beginning to think they have gone the way of Susie and Madison. New writers do not necessarily pick up where the old writers left off.

Have now seen the ep where the flight attendant is killed in the baggage handling system-a quirky little show! Not a gripping,action-packed hour but enjoyable none the less. It had a retro feel-hearking back to the glory days of air travel when everything about it seemed glamourous. Not much Horatio but the others worked together well.Nice to see Horatio working alongside Kyle.

Just caught up with watching "Flight Risk" tonight.....late again this week. Not a lot to talk about really, and not a lot of Horatio as already mentioned. Agree it was nice to see him in his lab coat.....love him in the lab coat.......but have to say I prefer the blue one he used to wear in the early seasons. Plot line a bit predictable but enjoyable anyway. Nice to see the team generally working well together in this one even if their boss only made a few short appearances. We learn that Ryan thinks Calleigh and Eric are seeing each other but when he tells Natalia she doesn't believe him........these two seem to work well together these days. It was nice to see that Kyle's observation skills came to the fore......is he following in Dad's footsteps? Doubt it but, nice thought.
