As far as I remember it was Eric himself who asked Calleigh to help him with reading the notes and she "stumbled" across the ones about Eric's sessions, but I could be wrong here. I do think however that Calleigh should have put the notes back to Eric's side of the table as soon as she noticed they were about his sessions. Overall I thought the epi was quite good, with good acting. About the relation between Eric and Calleigh: I'm not a fan of relations between the CSI's, but if I had to put 2 of them together, it would have been Eric and Calleigh (well, preferably H and Calleigh, but that's more like a "welcome in Utopia"-idea ). They have been through quite a lot together already and they've always had that "special glance" when looking at each other. I'm not really pro, but certainly not against it either. We'll see what happens. Maybe with Eric's new injury it won't last into S8 anyway........ Sandra

Sandra, thank you for your input. I regret to say that I think this Calleigh/Eric thing may just last into season 8. Maybe, just maybe I will change my mind by the end of the season. Doubt it though. ;D Margaret

Oh well, I guess this a non goer. Started well, but seems we are not that interested. Sour grapes, yes just a little. But, I will say no more.

@margaret: Want you to know that I posted an absolutely profound and to-the-point comment to this episode last night. When I hit "post reply" I got a "page error" response and all my wonderful words were lost. I was too tired to recreate my paragraph so I went to bed disgruntled. Will see if I can recreate it in some form after I reread the above entries.
But I know what you mean when going through the effort to write your thoughts down after viewing the show. When all that hard work is rewarded by only a few posts, it can be very discouraging. What you have to figure out is how many others are watching it at the same time you are. These are the ones most likely to respond. Those of us who have seen these episodes months ago should be able to say something, although in my case, I feel one should be able to click on the old thread and reread what was posted when the episode was first aired. Sorry you sound frustrated and please know I do feel your pain.

Too bad if this doesn't work out, Margaret, especially since you put a lot of efforts in it. It takes a bit more than just some words and a few minutes of your time to write a review. I still hope we can keep this thread alive, but I do understand we need more than just a couple of entries to continue. Sandra

@ Karen........that's okay. Sorry you lost your message, that has happened to me on the odd occasion, and I know you would always come in anyway if you could, as I know Sandra will as well. I do find it frustrating though that as soon as the last season in the states is finished no one wants to know what we might say or think over on this side of the pond whilst we will always try to say something if not much when all the talk and threads are alive on any new season over on your side. There is always a few words that can be said. It's never really going to work though is it? This is the trouble with the big differences in the times we get to see the series. As I have said before, when finished in the States, all done and dusted and put to bed. But, looks like the UK are not into this either....sobeit. All I can say is I tried to get something going.
We could go back into the original threads and make comments but that would make no difference, yet we might just have a different take on some of the episodes, probabaly not, we are all like minded people on the whole in here. So the picture I am getting is that only the original discussion threads mean anything to all those in the states, and any others are of no consequence. that's a bit sad. As soon as season eight is mentioned we are seen to be around again. Sorry, had to get this of my chest.

Margaret, don't be discouraged-I think it's good that we in UK can now really join in the discussion. I completely forgot to look out for reviews this time -worked 2 nights over the weekend but otherwise no excuse! Perhaps we should have this thread somewhere else-maybe in the TV show section. I enjoyed the ep.Gail O'Grady was great in her role-she seems to have the knack of slotting into established shows-she was also good as a hot judge in Boston Legal. DC looked really good and I liked the way Horatio was the one who actually spotted the weapon-like it when he uses his legendary powers of observation! Eric/Calleigh thing is OK still-not to obtrusive at the moment and quite sweet but in a brotherly/sisterly way. From clips and photos I've seen of upcoming episodes, they have absolutely no sexual chemistry and look awkward in the promo shots. Love Mandy

I think all we can do Margaret is just keep putting out two pence in between us this side of the pond .... I would imagine once the girls have said their bit on a series and it is finished they have not really got a lot to add . However I think we should keep this going Margaret for the ones who are only just catching up from the begining of 7 ... As you know I do have the complete series but I have not watched all of them I am trying to be good and wait my time but it does get tempting at times to take a look ....but I have not done so as yet I don't know how long I will be able to contain my curiosity though ... Take care. maggie

Computer wouldn't let me log on for the last 3 days-very frustrating.Thankfully husband has now sorted it out. Have now watched the latest epi for us in UK.We have finally met the Russian mob & Horatoi's new nemesis.Sarkov was OK but not,for me, in the same league as Saris-I expect he will get more menacing as the season progresses. DC was on the top of his game here -like the "technical "one liner. The tattoo as life story details were interesting-though finding the bitten off tattoo was really gruesome! The mob girlfriend was good & I liked the way they worked out she was running scared just from the glass trace in her hands. Also loving the new British lab tech! Love Mandy

Thank you for starting this one Mandy. So was "RAGING CANNIBAL" a good episode or not. Personally, although I like all episodes, I thought this was the best one since the opening episode. It moved swiftly, we had a double homicide in the everglades and finally met the Miami Russian mob, and whoopee, Horatio has a new nemesis to pit himself against. I say this on the assumption we are to see a lot more of the russians. So, is Horatio going to be a real match for Ivan Sarnoff......cause he is, but that is all to come. The russian mob leader is a bit of a charmer in a funny sort of way, but will be cold and very manipulative. I also liked the mob girl friend, good actress....not sure who played that role. Again, we saw Horatio teaming up with Ryan well in this episode, and wow, if I had not noticed it before, you couldn't have missed that Calleigh and Horatio had no scenes together at all. There was some brutality and gruesome sections, but not out of order as the plot developed, the russians will be ruthless.
Mmmm, so we also see the new British lab tec in this episode, and who we heard went down so well with friends across the pond. He did sound so british didn't he and a very up market british at that. In, fact, Christopher Redman is not british, he was born in Brampton, Ontario, Canada on 1st January 1980. But, he began acting in The Canadian Youth Academy which was heavily focused on classical theatre
During his last 4 years at the academy he began taking a speech and drama course at Trinity College, Cambridge, via correspondence during the summers. Five years later, at age eighteen, he graduated with honors. Thus, he obviously managed to effectively speak with a british accent. He actually, looks very british as well.......so good choice.
Have to say I loved the finish when Horatio was talking to Ivan, and Ivan said "What is it you're after?" and Horatio, with that grin on his face, which is not meant to be a nice grin says "I'm after you Ivan, I'm gonna get you".
On that note I will finish.

I'm afraid the epi didn't really impress me, as I do remember some of it, but not really.......Not much to say therefor, except that I think Ivan is a good match for H.....And the longer he's in the show, the better I like Ryan..... Sandra

I agree about the improvement of the season in every epi, but I have to admit that I didn't like too much this one because of the violence (I was not able to bear the whole fight scene). Anyway, I love how season seven is developing and to have a new bad guy being Horatio's nemesis. Gonsy

Have now watched the latest instalment in UK. Pink colour scheme was very evident-I quite like little touches like this-it fits CSIM as the most stylized of the CSI franchise. Murder method was ingenious-couldn't help thinking that the plastic surgeon was over complicating things-there must be easier ways to get rid of troublesome teenagers! A staged accident ,such as a hit-and-run ,might have left less of a trail. Nice to see H not quite in total command & needing help from Eric to find the crab shell evidence in the Porsche.Elsewhere he was very authorative-liked the way he invaded the accountant's lunch. There was a lot of Horatio's sudden appearances in this ep -every time Julia turned round-he was there! Radio Times gave a good review overall but finished ,quite amusingly "Those hoping for a sensitive portrayal of mental health issues, look elsewhere. The show paints the world of someone with bipolar disorder with a broad brush, its bristles flecked with nonesense."
I take their point here, though I think EB is doing a reasonable portrayal of someone in a tailspin- the inter-action with DC was touching [especially the kiss]! Julia does seem to be living in the lap of luxury -bit hard for us puritanical Brits to take!
Enjoyed the ep but I think my favourite show so far was the one with Eric's psychiatrist.
Love Mandy
