All UK fans......I have some really good news for you tonight. WE HAVE A DATE I recorded CSI New York last night, and have just watched it tonight and they announced that..... CSI: MIAMI SEASON 7......starts on Tuesday 30th June 2009. Channel 5 as usual. No time given but I expect it will be 9 or 10pm. This is two weeks earlier than usual so I guess this is because of the extra episodes this season. Margaret

@ Karen.....thank you for being happy for us. I moan so much about being one of the last to see any new series but, once it starts we always see all the way through with no breaks. They always time it to finish in that week prior to Christmas.

Well we finally saw the first episode " Resurrection" tonight. As all the US members have seen I doubt they will be interested.....but, we in the UK now have a chance to say what we really feel for the first time. So, how about, we keep this thread for us late viewers throughout season seven with anyone else coming in if they want to. Not sure if this will work but thought it was worth a try to keep some conversation going through the summer. So, let me kick off. After all the hype surrounding this opening episode, was I disappointed or not? I have to say that the beginning was a bit of an anticlimax......too slow, but I really started to finally feel something when Eric looked at the covered body in the morgue thinking it was Horatio.......In fact, I think Eric showed his emotions better than all of the others. Frank & Ryan were not bad though......but, thought Calleigh lacked something. Anyway, rushing through......the episode really warmed up once Horatio came on the scene.....he truly did bring the episode alive. It moved on at a much, much better pace. Not going to cover the whole story in detail, but I liked the exchanges between Eric & Horatio throughout and Horatio's menacing scenes were very well done as usual. Was nice to see Horatio working with Yelina just a little, and that explosion at the end was pretty impressive. So, how does Ron Yaris escape that? We know he does from what we have already heard on the board. My favourite scene was actually the last one where Horatio walks away from Eric with a jaunty walk and a grin on his face suggesting he is about to enjoy himself. He looked pretty good as well. Overall, not a bad start, however not the dynamic one I was expecting. But. whatever, I always enjoy. Margaret NB: I still cannot take to Julia.......to me she shows no real emotion physically and neither in her voice. She is very wooden and cold as an actress. Julia, you will have to far better than this to win me over.

So nice of you to do this, Margaret. I'm glad you enjoyed the episode even if reports of Horatio's death were slightly exaggerated. I still enjoy a bit of smug self-satisfaction for figuring out who shot him. It was the "toodle-oo" that did it. To me it sort of meant that the two would be meeting up later.
I hope that others who watched it when you did will respond. It is still fun to read the various reactions even though it has been awhile since some of us have seen it.

We've seen it about 3 months ago and I wasn't really thrilled about the whole epi either. They could have done much more with it. Missed chance.......And I completely agree with you, Margaret, when it comes to Julia.....don't like her character..... Sandra

my reaction on last nights epi??? firstly, i agree with margaret when it comes to calleigh, not enough emotion from her. when ryan told calleigh and eric that horatio was dead, she reacted with a hand covering half her face. i was expecting a few tears from her! she has known him and worked with him for a long time. ryan was on the verge of crying when he shouted at cal and eric about the bit about horatio being on the 5 o'clock news. he showed more emotion than cal did and he knew exactly what was going on! eric was done brilliantly in my opinion. his emotions were spot on, esp when it came to grabbing ryan by his jacket to force ryan to confess. that was believable. didn't get to see much of natalia so i can't really comment on her! i was disappointed in the lack of reaction from frank. when he spoke to cal at the airstrip, i was expecting him to give her a sympathetic hug. but he has a hard man reputation to uphold but it would have been nice to see a more sensitive side to him considering his partner in crime(busting) had just died. jake was in trouble yet again! i liked the way cal handled him! i kept yelling at my tv to tell cal to tell jake to f**k off and in so many words she did tell him! he's no good for her! i've never liked jake at all! another person i still don't like is julia! i still can't stand her! although i had to applaud her when she asked ron for a divorce! probably the best decision she's made in a long time! and since when does kyle know how to use a gun? i loved the way yelina used her female charm on ron to get a sale for the bullets! although, i thought she wore a little too much red for my liking (reminds me of DC as Kit Kat in Hudson Hawke! the less i think about that particular scene the better) as for horatio, well, what can i say??? he was looking gooooood as usual! there was one line that made me laugh! the bad guy who was about to escape via helicoptor (i forget the name) says, 'caught by a dead man' that made me laugh! plenty of horatio and gun porn to keep me happy! but there were a couple of things that got my brain thinking, when eric went to meet horatio in the parking lot, horatio appeared from behind eric's hummer out of nowhere! where the hell did he come from without eric noticing him there?? i just had visions of horatio clambering out of the boot/trunk! if horatio was already down there then why didn't eric see him straight away?? also, how did horatio get from miami to the glades and back again if he was out there on his own??? there was no sign of his hummer anywhere in the epi! all in all, a good show! slow to start but when horatio finally made an appearance (i went absolutely crazy) things started to get interesting and my full attention was there! i was swearing and cursing at the tv when the adverts came on! for the 2 hours before CSI Miami was on, i had put channel five on and i watched the programs before. at every commercial break, they had the advert for the season premier! this made me even more excited! a mate of mine kept teasing me saying that horatio's dead! so i when i told her that he isn't and that i know he isn't, she decided to watch it herself last night! when it had finished, i rang her up with the usual 'i told you so' conversation! i love it when i get one over on her, she's a bit of a know it all sometimes, so to proove her wrong last night made my day complete! luv sam x

Guess what! I did not check properly and so Sky plus didn't record the ep.Have just watched it on the computer, though I much prefer to see TV actually on a proper TV-it seems more of an event that way. Thought it was rather slow to get going and not the most convincing of plots but DC looked and sounded great. I liked Sofia Milos's performance as a 'femme fatale'-scene with her and Kim Coates almost sizzled.Saris is a wonderful bad guy -up there with Clavo Cruz in my opinion. Have to disagree with Sam-I love Jake but can see that he is too wild for Calleigh .Will have to see how the Eric/Calleigh story pans out-have read a lot of comments about it on the board and elsewhere and am now a bit biased against it.Will try to keep an open mind.
Looking forward to the rest of the season .
Love Mandy
