@ Karen. Well he does sound a bit cute.......the article I read said he had been in CSI Miami 3 times? Anyway will look out for him at the end of the year. Also, he is 29 and has been in quite a range of films etc and worked alongside a few big names. @ Emily....okay understood, thank you for confirming this for me. Margaret

I'm just looking forward to next week -- Horatio and horses. How ironic that I own an off the track Thoroughbred, too.

Ok, so I just finished watching the episode... I hadn't read any of the 'spoiler' thread before watching and my word, isn't it a mixed bag of responses! My verdict? I liked it. I didn't love it to bits and it's not my favourite ever episode but I didn't dislike it. I think we've had quite a run of exciting, action-oriented episodes so I suppose anything that slowed the pace down was always going to seem a tiny bit dull. My favourite scene: Horatio in the lab, wearing a lab coat (and latex gloves), doing something scientific and then typing on the computer - I have no idea why I find the idea of Horatio typing so interesting, but nevermind. But well, it's Horatio, so he could be dressed in a refuse sack and dancing in a conga line and I'd still like it. I actually liked the suspect (Doug). I have no idea what the whole smirk was about (at the time it suggested that he had some sort of knowledge of the event that he wasn't sharing) then of course there was the exchange with another felon in the holding cell which was a little confusing, but I'm willing to overlook that. What I liked was that he wasn't your typical 'pretty-boy' suspect (you know the sort I'm talking about; all hairspray, no brains and living off Daddy's money). It was a different sort of episode to what we're used to, they tried a few new things - no one-liner right before the Who's lyrics kicked in for a start. (I wondered if this was a conscious decision to give Calleigh's character a little more 'power' in the show *raises eyebrows*.) I'm giving them kudos for trying a couple of new things. The other change they made was actually killing off the family - ordinarily in a Miami show they'd be able to save at least one member of the family (usually the little girl or the mother) but this time they were too late to save them and all three were dead when they arrived. An interesting switch there from usual; Horatio isn't Superman and he can't save everyone. I liked the new lab tech, his (posh) British accent was good, (the only thing that tipped me off that he wasn't a Brit was the way that he said the word 'narrow' I thought he said that with an Australian accent - Australian...Canadian...so close...). I also liked the new technology that he bought with him (even if it did look like an industrial hairdryer!). He's a nice plant so that the team have to explain things to him, which means that he's the audience's way in to make the science more understandable. One thing I'm not so keen on is what is going on with Togo's hair?? If it gets any higher he'll have trouble getting through doorways! Anyway, just thought I'd stick my oar in. Amy And yes, I miss Rick too. I do hope he hasn't gone to the same place that Suzie, Madison and Ray Jr have gone to. I quite like the guy. Come back Stettie, (almost) all is forgiven!

You made my day with it, because it is so true to me as well.. Horatio Caine is Horatio Caine until the day he dies, and no matter what he's doing he's still got the sexy. Hehe! Ah and Stetler, I think once the Russians get wind of the stuff, he'll be back.. he'll be back

I also liked the team disagreeing on whether he was or wasn't guilty (which isn't a very common thing in previous episodes). that scene with the felon gave calleigh some more reason to disagree with eric, which was interesting i thought. overall i thought it was a nice episode, i don't really need to see guns and explosions every week and i don't mind rick returning anytime soon at all....
