Originally posted Monday July 29, 2002 01:00 PM EDT"NYPD Blue" alums David Caruso, 46, and Kim Delaney, 40, now set to costar in CBS's upcoming fall series "CSI: Miami," took a welcome break this weekend from filming in the 100-degreee swamps of Florida's Everglades, reports PEOPLE. They were among the 400 guests who turned up at Miami's Sagamore Hotel to celebrate "Pearl Harbor" producer Jerry Bruckheimer's kick-off of his latest flick, "Bad Boys 2," a sequel to the 1995 action-comedy film "Bad Boys," starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. Bruckheimer, 56, is also executive producer of "CSI: Miami," a spin-off to the two-year-old established hit "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation." Talking to PEOPLE about his new series, Caruso, who lives in South Beach, said, "This has been something that I really have been excited about, and it's really a great team of actors and crew. It's going to be something great." He'll play Horatio Caine, a forensics expert. As for living in the Sunshine State, the New York native said, "Miami is one of the great cultural melting pots in the world. I love working and living here," though he admits, "It's a slower pace (than New York). But I'm liking the groove."
