While watching the movie "Amazing Grace" the other night, I thought the actor who played William Pitt resembled a very young David Caruso. His name is Benedict Cumberbatch --- I kid you not. He is also in the movie "Atonement" which I have not seen as yet. Has anyone else noticed this or am I all alone out on this limb? I have Googled him and he does seem like an "up and coming" performer worthy of notice. I'd be interested in your feedback. Thank you.

He's done some TV work in the UK including a brilliant portrayal of Stephen Hawking. I personally don't think that the likeness to DC is very strong but I can see what you mean. Something about the eyes reminds me of DC. Lee.

Well certainly it's okay. I will be looking for your feedback, Krystal.
@lee: Yes, it is through the eyes that I first became aware of the likeness, but as the character developed, I sensed some similarities in expressions as well.

Karen, I own Amazing Grace and I did have that same thought as you. It took me a while to realize why he reminded me of David. He seems to quite a fine actor, too. Did you enjoy the movie?

Yes, I thought the movie was quite well done, em. Albert Finney excelled as always and while the plot wasn't exactly "enjoyable" it was interesting to see how a few people dedicated to one cause can make a difference even though the wheels of justice moved very slow. And the song, of course, was so vital to the story.
