Seems Sesame Street will kick off its 38th season by introducing a new puppet: one with an uncanny likeness to David Caruso. This puppet will lead the"RSI:Rhyme Scene Investigation" unit and viewers will be invited to participate in solving the rhyme. I "googled" DC this morning and it was the first article listed. Enjoy!

Well, David has created a character that will be mocked and impersonated many times over for a while to come :-) But, people love his character and i think it's great they are using it in this way now, to help kids learn. And it doesn't hurt to have this sort of thing on Sesame Street for the parents who get stuck watching kids' television all day, it gives them something to relate to in a way and to smile at. So, i say good job Seasame Street! :-D

My only quibble with the puppet is that it is wearing a necktie. What wonderful validation for David's unique portrayal of his special character. He has worked so hard to distinguish "Miami" from the other two shows, and the fact that Sesame Street recognizes the campiness and the kindness of Horatio and chose him to immitate must be very flattering to all of the "Miami" cast. Sesame Street never, never, humiliates people and they never, never deliver "put-downs". I am sure son MAC will be delighted and I would not be surprised if Mr. Caruso receives an invitation to appear in person sometime in the future. We are always saying how wonderful DC is with kids. Well, Sesame Street has undoubtedly noticed this, too. Congratulations, Mr. Caruso, on a job well done. And thank you Jessica for the link.

I appreciate everything you say Karen, you have given us a wonderful synopsis as usual. I have to confess that I have never seen Sesame Street but if as you say they never deliver put-downs then fair enough, I go along with all what you say. However,I just happen to not like puppet shows so would never watch this even if I had the choice. Sorry, that's just me I'm afraid.

Oh I love it - unmistakeably Horatio - "Sir, have you lost a muskrat? a flat muskrat?" teehee. the puppet even manages to pull his jacket back just like Horatio. I would have liked June Moon to have a Southern accent like Calleigh though. Sesame Street's moved on since I was a nipper - it was just a handful of characters then, Big Bird, Oscar the grouch and Elmo. It's just quite surreal to see a show which deals with horrendous human situations (murder, theft, kidnap, rape etc) mixed with a preschool children's show. I would love to see David as a guest star on that show - he'd be great. Thank-you for the link!
