So I havent posted any writings or anything lately and I havent been around, but here you guys go, its my latest work.

He stood, looking at the door of his son’s apartment. Ocean blues narrowed just slightly, wondering if he was home. Horatio Caine had one son, from a relationship that begun in New York while he was undercover. Lest he did not know that he’d gotten Julia pregnant, and had just recently had to deal with the repercussions of his actions – Being the lieutenant, he found it hard not to punish Kyle, with charges of kidnapping and other sorts. His eyes widened as he heard something inside, and justified that as enough probable cause to break down the door. And that’s what he did – Burst through the door, and yelled.
“Kyle!” he yelled as he immediately pulled out his Sig Sauer semi automatic .48 – held it high, and scanned with every fiber of his being in control.
“Dad!” The voice was loud and worried.
“Kyle stay where you are” Horatio replied – his heart was raging between his temples.
“Dad – don’t come in here!” Kyle yelled back.
“I cant do that Kyle.” Horatio kept walking trying to find his son. His adrenaline was surging through his veins.
“Dad, just don’t do it!” he yelled again. Kyle too was shaking, staring down the barrel of a shotgun.
Horatio tried his hardest to follow the voice.. he could hear the hint of panic in his son’s pleas, and knew someone else was in there – where he did not know, but in there with him. Slowly and quietly he moved through the apartment – the only place he could think was the master bedroom. His gun thingyed he pulled his old body forward, running on adrenaline. And the need, and desire to save his son.
It was interesting to him, the captor thought, how did this boy’s father know to come here. How did he know? -Maybe they’d planned to meet or something, he thought – it didn’t matter, both of them where going to die, one way or another.
“Your father wont get here in time.” The captor laughed out loud – it reverberated through the room. “So your, Horatio Caine’s son – seems I chose the perfect person to kill then.” He laughed louder.
Horatio heard what was going on, and just kept himself quiet despite the rage that was flowing through him. He had to keep himself quiet, he knew the apartment – by memory. He’d catch him, before he had a chance to kill his son.
The captor walked up to Kyle, and held out the weapon. “I want you to..hold onto this.”
Kyle blinked… then realized that the captor had another pistol that was now pointing at his head. “But…” the shotgun was heavy in his hands.. and he was shaking.
“Your going to kill your father.” The captor said deadpan
Kyle’s eyes got wide, and his heart pounded in his chest. “No.. I won..t..” he said. Trying to stay strong but it wasn’t coming to him.
Horatio busted in the door of the master bedroom, and – yelled. “Kyle – get down!”
Kyle stayed standing up, and the captor stayed where he was, holding the pistol to the back of his head. “No.. dad..” he said, and looked back and forth..
Horatio realized what was going on… with the blink of an eye.. His own son was going to be forced to shoot him.
“This is how it ends Horatio.” The captor said loud, and laughed a loud reverberating laugh.
It took two seconds. Horatio knew exactly who it was.. Julia’s ex. He wondered if Kyle knew too.. “Ron…stop this..” he murmured.
Shock overwhelmed Kyle’s features as he stood, and started shaking.. “Da..d…” was all he could bite off..
Ron Sarius smirked. “This is how it ends Lieutenant.” He said, it quiet, now edging the pistol further into Kyle’s head.
Horatio couldn’t shoot his son, and wasn’t going to risk shooting Ron and missing. Instead he put his pistol down, and waited for his shot.
Ron reached down, pulling up the shotgun in Kyle’s hands and aimed.. “Now, Horatio..”
Kyle shuddered, “No.. please.. don’t!” he yelled.
Ron looked down at Kyle and smirked. “It has to be done.”
Horatio stood, like a deer in headlights unable to move- nowhere to run. “Ron… You don’t want to do this..” he said, his voice calm.. concerned. It was his last ditch effort to save his own life.. “Kyle doesn’t need this on his conscience.. If you want to kill me – do it yourself.”
Ron laughed, hard – “If only Rick was here to see this.” He smirked. He positioned the shotgun and forced Kyle’s finger on the trigger.
Horatio got ready to duck, but he didn’t think he’d be fast enough. He tried one last time.. to calm Ron down, or to get him to shoot him himself. “Ron, Don’t put this on the child… He doesn’t deserve it… you’ve taken too many a life, to care about mine.”
Ron just laughed again. His adrenaline pulsing in his chest, - “This is my sweet revenge Horatio. I’ve waited so long to come up with something like this!” He thingyed the rifle for Kyle and whispered in his ear. “Pull the trigger, or I’ll blow your brains out.”
Kyle flinched, and his finger pulled the trigger. His heart kicked in his chest as he watched the muzzle flash, and the world around him stopped, and turned into slow motion.
Horatio took the split second he was given to throw himself at the floor, and landed on his stomach as the bullets pierced his flesh, he wasn’t fast enough.. and his blood begun to spill across the carpet floor, and deep down. He was in a pain he’d felt before, when he was stabbed. And those memories flashed in his perverbial. His heart was kicking in his chest, as he stood, body shaking, as he tried to keep himself conscious.
Ron walked over and begun using all of his strength to kick Horatio in the ribs.. “Ahaha your blood spills Horatio!” he laughed it like a predatory animal who’d just taken down a kill.
Kyle stood, unable to move.. shaking.. “D..dad..” was all he could say.. all that would come from his shaking voice.. “D..dad..”
Horatio swallowed and looked up as he felt his ribs breaking.. “S..son..” he murmured..”It..its alright..”
Ron ran, as far as he could get, leaving Kyle to deal with what he’d done.
Kyle stood, couldn’t move.. watching as his father bled out in the floor. “D..dad..” he murmured it again.. He pulled himself together and ran to his side… he never realized how – much he’d sacrificed for him until this instant. He put pressure on the wound’s.. pulled out his cell phone, and called it in.
“Help… please.. someone..” he said into the phone.
“Nine eleven – whats your emergency.” The operator said.
“Dad…he….Horatio Caine’s been shot.” Kyle whimpered. He looked down at Horatio. “Dad, stay with me… dad!” he yelled it.
Horatio was fighting the black that threatened to surround him, the pain that he was suffering. His heart was beating so fast.. his body was shaking with it, and he knew, at this moment that he was going to die. Horatio’s heart kicked in his chest as he slowly moved his hand to reach out at his son.. to grab any part of him desperately.
Kyle looked down and then back up. “He’s dying” he murmured.
The operator spoke again calm voiced. “He’s not going to die – just keep pressure on his wounds. Help will be on the way shortly. Keep talking to him, keep his mind active.”
Kyle looked down. “Dad – I’m so sorry..” he murmured keeping the operator on the phone.
Horatio didn’t make a noise, all he did was shake more. “S..son.” he finally said after a long silent moment. He was unable to breathe.
Kyle watched as his father slowly faded… he knew he was going to lose him. That this was finally the end.. and he had caused it.
Horatio’s body flinched, shuddered, and then went limp… and he finally let go… on the hope and prayer that he would be at Marisol’s side once more.—
Kyle watched as the paramedics rushed in a moment too late.
When they found him, he was laying over the body of his father… of Lieutenant Caine… covered in his blood. “Son..” the paramedic murmured.
Kyle didn’t move, he just wanted to die too.. “to..too late..” he whimpered, and sobbed.. his arms wrapped around his father.. almost like Simba had wrapped Mufasa’s.
The paramedic knew he had to call the ME. And that as it seemed this kid would be going away for life..but what kind of cop was he.------
