Okay so its been a while since I've written one of these and I figured this was probably one of the most perfect songs for Horatio.
And I thought with the Finale right around the corner, this would be my little tribute/in betweener.
"You Found Me" - The Fray
------------------------------------------
Horatio[/i] was alone, as he sat, by himself- in the never ending mess of his life. It had all gone down hill in the recent months, his body warn and beaten, mentally disintegrated to nothing. He'd nothing left, he knew, and didnt know how much he'd left.
I found God on the corner of 1st and Amistad
Where the West was all but won
All alone, smoking his last cigarette
I said, "Where you been?" He said, "Ask anything"
Where have you been, God...?[/i] Horatio asked in his head, where had his God been, the one he'd been faithful to his whole entire life.
Where were you when everything was falling apart?
All my days were spent by the telephone that never rang
And all I needed was a call that never came
To the corner of 1st and Amistad
He stood up and walked to his bay window, that he'd in his living room. Stood staring out at all of Miami. Only time to take a breath, his fast paced life seemed to not be giving him a chance. He'd been through so much, and he wondered if anyone knew... anyone understood, what he was feeling, and he doubted it.
Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me
Lying on the floor surrounded, surrounded
Why'd you have to wait? Where were you? Where were you?
Just a little late, you found me, you found me
He moved to his bathroom, stared into his eyes, the ocean blue slowly fading to a gray. - Without warning he fell to the floor, his knees pounding against the tile floor. Pulled his jacket off, and pounded his fists. -
---
She stood, in the reflection of the mirror, and turned to the tile floor, where her husband fell, she stood silent behind him, wanting to encase him in her touch, her embrace... but she was not of this world- She kneeled down behind him, and wrapped her arms around her love, hoping that he'd feel her... knew she was there..
----
Horatio turned, thinking he'd felt something. Saw something...out of the corner of his fading visage. "Marisol.." he murmured thinking he sounded crazy even to himself... and then he started to wonder if he was hallucinating. Energy faded from him, and he fell onto his stomach... unable to get back up...
But in the end everyone ends up alone
Losing her, the only one who's ever known
Who I am, who I'm not and who I wanna be
No way to know how long she will be next to me
Marisol's touch was that of something he'd never experienced before, he didnt know, and wouldnt know until after he got out of the hospital, that someone had actually tried to kill him, with chloroform in his air conditioner and it came out the vents... and went through his house... that was why he hallucinated.
---
Vision was a blurr as he lay. He tried to get himself back up. He needed to pull himself together... He couldnt feel his body... couldnt feel anything.. breath was coming hard, and labored to him as well.
Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me
Lying on the floor surrounded, surrounded
Why'd you have to wait? Where were you? Where were you?
Just a little late, you found me, you found me!
Marisol was the only thing he saw.. and then Julia... and Kyle... and as his vision faded farther, he thought - wondering why he'd been seeing Marisol so much, why his memory kept going to her... why... he wondered...
The early morning, the city breaks
And I've been calling for years and years and years and years
And you never left me no messages
You never sent me no letters
You got some kind of nerve taking all I want!
He woke up a few hours later, his ocean blues faded to grey, and still unable to sit up, the sun breaking through the window, he roll onto his back, and his body shuddering. He stare his eyes half open at the ceiling. He wasnt himself, he knew... wasnt the man he wanted to be, and nor was he the man he could be. Marisol came back to his mind, he'd felt her touch for a split second...
Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me
Lying on the floor, where were you? Where were you?
Horatio rolled back onto his stomach, trying to gain his ground but it was to no avail.. "Marisol.." he murmured again. Tried to get up, but he couldnt get up... so weak...
Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me
Lying on the floor surrounded, surrounded
Why'd you have to wait? Where were you? Where were you?
Just a little late, you found me, you found me!
Ryan had realized that Horatio hadnt come into work, and he usually was there before everyone else.. So he'd driven to his apartment, and saw the department issue Hummer in the driveway. Something wasnt right, he already knew... he could feel it in his gut - He pulled in the drive, already fearing the worst. It was one of his own nightmares to find Horatio, alone and bleeding, or alone and dead. He wondered if that was everyones nightmare who worked with him.
Slowly he tread up the stairs, and to Horatio's door. Knocked, once twice... nothing.. Something that smelled bad, and made his nostrils flare was coming from the inside. He couldnt quite place it. So instead he checked the door, to see if it was unlocked, and sure enough it was. Slowly he walked in and narrowed his eyes..
"Horatio..!" he called as he looked around - tempted to draw his pistol, he held himself - "Horatio?" this time he asked..
----
Horatio could hear his voice... tried to make a sound but he couldnt even speak. His body shuddered again as he tried to get up, tried anything he could to move... but it was to no avail.
----
Ryan moved to the bedroom, Horatio wasnt there, moved to the kitchen not there either. Slowly he paced through the house, and realized that he hadnt checked the bathroom. The door was closed, and he knocked lightly. No testimony to him opening it.. Slowly he pushed it open, and when he saw what he did, his eyes widened, and he jumped into action.
"Horatio!" he yelled, and immediatly started coughing - he knew what the stench was now, Chloroform. He kneeled down, and tried to roll Horatio onto his side.. "H...You...alright?" he asked but knew he wasnt..
-------
Why'd you have to wait to find me, to find me?
Horatio's eyes got wide, and his heart kicked in his chest. His body shuddered. "Mis...mister Wolfe.." he murmured and coughed -
Ryan covered his mouth and his body shook. Horatio looked so warn - so wary... and now he was going to have to save him.
