I know I'm jumping the gun a bit, but I just noticed that the next episode, Chip/Tuck won't be airing until April 13th. The episode following that one, Dead on Arrival, won't air until April 27th. Looks like we're going to be having some reruns. It also means no teaser tonight for the next episode.

Dry your tears, selvis07, you've just proved our point. Any episode that does not feature Horatio primarily, might as well fade into the Miami sunset and never rise again. If ever any of the stars of this show (except Caruso) get bigheaded and think they can carry the action by themselves, all they have to do is haul out this episode and they will readily see that they can't. BUT . . . .
This was Jonothan Togo's night to shine and he did a pretty credible job. His beating was gory and hard to watch. But Ryan went along with the Russian mob because the child he has become fond of through his gambler's anonymous friend, Mark, had been kidnapped and the bad guys threatened to kill Billy if Wolfe did not cooperate by leading the CSI crew away from the evidence in a recent murder. But when the chips were down, it was not Calleigh and Eric, who had worked the scene with him, to whom he turned, but he reached out to Horatio just as Horatio had reached out to Ryan when he got "shot". Of course Horatio comes through and though we do not get to see enough of him, he is very active --- we see him working a computer, handcuffing a suspect, on the prowl with a gun and racking up his 28th victim --- all in the line of duty.
As it sits right now, Calleigh and Eric mistrust Ryan. He slowed down the search for the truth and those two are not happy with him. However, they do seem pretty happy with each other and this is where the plot bored me silly. If we're on the same page here, selvis07, I'm yawning right along with you. Calleigh and Eric are sharing an apartment and we see them as they move through their morning getting ready for work. They showed professionalism as they worked the scene but this "romance" can't end fast enough for me.
Natalia and Frank got the short end of the stick this week and I am really wanting to see more of these two in the few weeks we have left of this season.

Karen,
I couldn't agree with you more! Especially when it comes to Frank and Nat. She didn't even have a single line in this episode! She has such potential, but it's just pushed to the side, time and time again.

So a real deception after they gave us such high expectations with the previews......Even though it's good they give others some extra time in the spotlights (Ryan Wolfe/Jonathan Togo this time) every now and than, they have to realize it's Lt. Caine/David Caruso who really carries the show and according to your comments, they seem to forget that a little bit...... Sandra

I actually really liked this episode, hope that's not bad or dumb for me. I know that we all like seeing Horatio and we, well most of you, think he runs the show but that can't always be the case. There are other main characters and they are in now just as much as he is, but I do agree that they should show more of him. In tonight's episode, I liked how he was the one to go rescue the child.
But I did like it, I thought it was a great episode in my opinion. But I have to agree with Caren about Eric and Calleigh's 'romance' I don't see much chemistry with them. CSI Miami isn't really known for relationships so maybe we should keep it that way? I don't know.
But I really liked this episode! =)

Sharon, you're not alone. I, too, liked the episode. And I agree with what you said:
"I know that we all like seeing Horatio and we, well most of you, think he runs the show but that can't always be the case. There are other main characters and they are in now just as much as he is, but I do agree that they should show more of him."
That's exactly how I feel. As much as we all love Horatio, he can't always be the focus of every episode.
On a surprising note: does anyone remember how in this episode we were supposed to see H take revenge on the man who tortured Ryan? H was (according to the script) doing the same things to the Russian until he gave H the information he needed. Well, it didn't happen. And I can't help but wonder if this is somehow representative of a change in the direction that H was supposed to go this season.
Does anyone remember how before season 7 started we were told that we were going to see a "much darker Horatio"? Well, we haven't seen him this season, have we? On the contrary. We've seen Horatio heading back to the roots of his character. I think that the TPTB changed their minds about taking him in a darker direction. They apparently went against the script in this episode and kept H from being that violent.
I think those who have been critical of dark/violent/vengeful H should take notice and be appreciative of this. I don't think it's a small deal.

Cassity's Back!
Anyways - Uhm - If I may say - I was very dissipointed in this episode - Very. People on other boards where saying that this was the episode of the season. And in my opinion I think they had something great and they BLEW IT again. -.-
For a few reasons actually -
One the story line was horrid.. Horatio was only in it less than five minutes- and WHERE was the ONE LINER again - Uhm.. Johnathan Togo did do a really good job - but it seemed VERY VERY rushed- Once it got to the middle point - I wasnt expecting this to turn out the way it did - and I was very very dissipointed in the writers.
I just - UGH! And then there was no preview and that made me really angry... I was just so so mad when it was over- SO mad.
Although My favorite moment - if I can say it was my favorite was when Ryan was on the phone and he heard the gunshot and it was really Horatio who'd fired it off. Ahh such a good Ryan Horatio moment.
But other than that I was very angry with the way the episode went.

Cassity, Horatio was in it for much more than five minutes. The last twenty minutes of the episode were more about Horatio than Ryan. And the one liner was there, but not where it usually was. Instead of at the beginning it was at the end, when he said, "Bring it on."
And you can't be mad because of the lack of the preview. As I said yesterday, we're going to have a rerun next week, then a new episode, then another rerun. That happens this time of year.
Why are you so angry? I'm not really seeing a real reason.

I havent been online all week - so Uhm I'm playing catch up - and I just didnt like this episode - it didnt appeal to me - I think - it just was so stupid... weak- Up there with Resurrection.
AND! The whole thing with them doing flashbacks to the Security guard being in the safe when Ryan had OBVIOUSLY put the fingerprint on the item was annoying as hell.

I liked the episode in some parts. However, I found that some parts of it just... dragged on I guess. And it certainly wasn't what the previews had it be but then again we can never expect the episode to be as good as the previews. As for no preview for next week, its a re-run. Nothing to get upset over.
But yeah, I agree with most of you [except for the remark of it being the same as Resurrection. It wasn't even near the caliber...] -- this episode was a little dry. And aside from it sort of being Ryan's ep, Horatio was great as always. =]

Horatio was in it for a long time, and I really liked his work. He played the hero, and we love seeing him as the hero and in action, I really liked him in this episode, how he went through the building and whatnot. And of course, he was just a little upset with Ryan but Horatio is understandind and whenever his team is in trouble, he is there to help.
I don't mind a re-run. Sure I'd like to see a new episode but hey, can't always get them every week. I think stupid and weak was a little harsh and I thought Resurrection was good to. And for the one liners, it probably can't always happen. They have done the one liners so much that maybe they are just trying to relax on that a little and whatnot. That's my other take.
But I liked it, and I'm glad I'm not the only one but we all have our own opinions. Let's hope the next episode is great. =)
