How would you like to see the rest of this season develop? Are you excited by a romance between Eric and Calleigh? Do you want to see more, or less, of Julia and Kyle? How about Yelina and Ray, Jr.? Is their story over? And we always come back to Suzie and Madison --- do you want to see them again? Just what do you see in "Miami" that makes you return every week and what would you like to see develop.
For one, I would like to see more team camradarie. Remember the end of Season 3 when they were all on the beach together? That was great. Instead of them all going their separate ways at the end of the day, why not have a picnic on the beach or a welcoming event for the new lab tech? Activities like this would make the team seem more bonded together and would not take too much time out of the plot.
Here's your chance to express your heart's desires. Please know I am ready to assume the role of the previously mentioned "Aunt Hortense" ---- Have Bags, Will Travel. Anytime.

There are several things I would like to see but know that they wouldn't happen in a million years. So I will stick with the things that actually stand a chance at coming to fruition.
1) More Julia and Kyle--I strongly believe they'll make a big return when the season nears the end. I have a feeling that they're keeping Julia away because they want to give her (and the audience) a chance to heal. She's had a hell of a time with/without her meds, and she needs to adjust. Once she has truly regained stability, I think she can return and perhaps even be a good partner for H.
2) I don't care one way or the other what happens with Cal and Eric, as long as it is handled plausibly. The chemistry has been greatly lacking recently, but I didn't think last night was too terribly bad. Honestly, I think Eric just needs to grow a set and go for it.
3) I'm with you Karen. More camaraderie. While I never forsee a picnic happening, perhaps it would be nice to see some sort of a function where they're all together (and even perhaps get a call out together).
4) More scenes with Calleigh and H. And, no, this has nothing to do with DuCaine. David and Emily had such excellent chemistry in the first several seasons. They rarely appeared together in season 6. They're had some scenes together this season (more than I expected) but I still want more. Their characters have such a unique relationship. I think it was a big part of why the show 'worked' back in the day.
5) Fewer cliches. Last night the one-liner was shockingly absent. As I mentioned in a separate thread, I didn't mind it. While it's become a staple of the show, it's not necessary and actually takes away from the credibility of the show. Also, there are other ways to build excitement than always with shoot-outs, explosions, car chases, etc. The writers have talent. Let them show it! Originality is the key.
I'll stop for now, lest I go on forever.

Okay, I will have a go at this........it is difficult though not having seen series seven although I have picked up on a few things that have been happening. Some things I would like to see regardless of whether they follow on from seasons six or seven.
1. Would like to see more presence on the screen of Horatio......like in series 1-3. I know the series has evolved and as such we cannot go backwards........but, more screen time for him could easily be written into the storylines.
2. I am with both Karen and Emily we could do with a bit more camaraderie......such as Karen suggested a welcome party for the new lab technician. This could even be with something simple like team meetings.....they never seem to have such meetings anymore......they used to get together a few times in the early series.
3. Based on just what I have seen in season 6.......I do not want to see much more of Julia......I know I have to through season seven yet........but, I want to see her out of the frame.
4. I also think that we should get some more Suzie and Madison time .......Horatio promised to take care of them so one would think he should still be in his life now and again. Don't see why they cannot re introduce Madison in particular......this could bring out the caring side of Horatio so well. After all they found a son he didn't know anything about but he has known about Madison who is family for some time.....come on let us see some uncle Horatio.
5. Calleigh is getting too much screen time on her own now. I would like to see more time of her and Horatio together because they did have on screen chemistry as friends but I definately don't see them as a love interest for each other. I wonder why they are not together so much......perhaps Calleigh put her foot down for more screen time.
6. I would like to see Horatio have a really good love relationship with someone however......but with someone from outside the team...... someone who could nevertheless understand the frustrations of the job.....he needs someone to love him now. Also, if this is to happen it needs to happen soon.........Horatio is getting older now and if it is to be a realistic relationship needs to happen now rather than later. Mind you I suppose if they give him a serious relationship the powers that be might think it will kill off all the female viewers......but, not this one.
7. The one liners may not be everyone's taste.......but, I love them so long may they continue. If you take away the one liners then you may as well also take away the shades.
But, having said all this I will watch this show for so long as the role of Horatio continues.
Margaret
Addition......Karen.....a great aunt would be a wonderful idea....this could bring some real sense of humour into the series just now and again for some light relief.

Well, having an outside-view on season7, this discussion is pretty hard for me, but I want to add my "two-cents" as well. Regarding the discussion on board I've got an opinion about several story-lines...
1) more screen-time for Horatio/David: I guess this is what most of us want (and the time seems to increase slowly again, regarding season 5). But I would like to see him stick to his work as the leader of the day-shift and not only as the supervisor of the team. And as far as I know from the other discussions concerning s7 this aspect still is a bit rare to find.
2) the love-story between Calleigh and Eric is just... well... I'm not very pleased with that, because I think they don't match... but this is only my humble opinion
3) a love-interest for Horatio: that would be great, but I don't think Julia would be the right one. Maybe the authors should develop someone else, maybe a new character. Rebbecca Nevins was such a character and a quite similar one might do it...
4) the children-story-lines: well, they're quite difficult, because normally their appearance mean trouble for Horatio and - sorry to say so - this is nothing I would like to let him go through again, because it overloads the other lines of the show.
How season 7 should end? Well, this is the most difficult question to ask, especially if I can only make up my opinion for this season by the reviews, pics and comments I've read on board... Hmmm.... it shouldn't be such a nerve-wrecking cliff-hanger like between season 6 and 7. Maybe the emphasis should be on the whole team growing strong by every case they solve...

So season 7... Hmmm... I've only seen a few epi's, but I do like the way the show seems to have picked itself up a little...
1) More TEAM time - they seem a little fragmented these days - working on cases two by two... I know its what Noah did to save the animals on the planet, but the show is not that far gone...
2) Calleigh and Eric? Depends how its done... Eric has grown up a lot since his toothing days and I think is ready to get serious - but he needs to stand up for himself - Cal is not going to go after him if he acts like a lovesick teenager...
3) Love interest for H... ok... Here is where I get shot down... With Julia... HELL YES.... Why not? We all know how he likes to protect the ones he loves - and she certainly needs help. Add to that - she's the mother of his son - why shouldn't they be a family... It's not going to be easy for any of them - but isn't that what life is about? I think it would be a great storyline... We've all seen that he still cares for her...
As for the kids... Hmmm Madison, Ray Jnr and Kyle all meeting up at school and finding out they're related could be an interesting scenario... And what teenagers don't jump into the deep end these days..... Albeit with good intention... Can you just imagine H trying to sort that lot out...

At first I thought I'ld stay out and just watch the conversation between those who actually are watching S7 right now, but since quite a few who aren't actually into S7 are giving their opinion, I like to give my thoughts, for what it's worth . What I would like to see is more team-time and more H-screen-time and than specifically H actually WORKING a case, together with the team. And not only walking around and ask how everyone is doing The Calleigh-Eric storyline could be interesting and maybe it will bring back "Good Old Stettie" as well, because he's very much against relations between colleagues.......I see a very nice cat-and-mouse-game coming up here: Calleigh and Eric trying to hide their relation for Stetler (of course everyone else on the team knows and is more than willing to help them with this) and Stetler being very focussed on "catching" the 2 love-birds..... ;D But I have to say, this is not a "must" for me and I can very well live with a show without such relations. A love interest for H....mmmmmmm.......maybe. I see your point about Julia, Lucy, and I agree about H always being protective for those he loves, but I don't know....After all, Julia has put him through a lot ever since she came back in his life and I really don't know how realistic it would be to set them up in a relation after all she's done, with or without the medication-issue. I think it would be better to give H and Julia a friendly relation, with Julia and Kyle living nearby and a complete new character as H's love. The kids.......we all want to know what happened to them and I am no exception to that. Even if it was only a letter or a phonecall. Just my 2 cents. Sandra

Okay... So Cassity has Returned, from her four day break and she's puttin in her two cents. 1. More H screen time.. Lab time, more one liners, since ya know it is like all ya said the staple of the show. 2. No Horatio and Julia getting together. As much as you all want him to be her partner, and love her and blah, I just, No. She doesnt deserve him much less he need to have such a screwed up person in his life. It would just make everything hard for him 3. The whole Ducaine thing, Blah to that too, I dont think Horatio and Calliegh need to be together, he's too much of a father figure than a boyfriend. 4. I would like to see Kyle back in the picture because right now they just made it seem like he hates Horatio and doesnt want to be around him. 5. I want to see Horatio stay single for the rest of the series, Him being alone, and having to deal with it, makes his character SO MUCH better. And less distracted. 6. I think that Eric and Calleigh would be good together. And get everyone off of Horatio and her together. >.>; Alas, I like how they're putting Jake and Eric infront of her, and like having to make her choose and whatnot. --- I have a ton more ideas, I just havent like... I'm like half awake, and just woke up. I'll have more!

Cassity - I think you need to re-read.... I was the only one who said that Julia and H together would be interesting - It's wrong to say that we ALL want him to be her partner - that's just not the case...

@lu--I'm with you. I like the idea of H and Julia. I think I said that, too.
@cassity--No one here has said they want Calleigh and H together as a couple. If anything, we've said that we like them as a team and want more scenes of them working together. That's it. No one suggested DuCaine.

No no I'm not saying that I'm just saying that I see you all with Ducaine banners and what not and I dont like the idea of them together, I never meant to blame you or anything ^.^
Sorry for the missunderstanding.

Since I have not seen the season at all nor have I lurked the pictures this time or the reviews. I would like to see the chemistry and bantering of the first three seasons.
Julia would be nice too keep, but as a friend not as a love interest. I agree with those who want someone completely new for H. I don't want to see H single since the man-in-love-H is such a sight to behold. And I believe that one should never dip the pen in the office ink because it will rarely work. So that much for Eric Calleigh.
I'll write more when I am not running late for work.
