Hi Am going kinda nanners here. Still don't have cable so have NO idea what is going on this season. Trying not to find out so when I can see things..... But yesterday was on myspace and there was a blurb about CBS thinking of CANCELLING? !! Miami! You could follow a link to vote if it was a bad idea- don't have to tell you what I did. Anyway - is this true?? Is it some advertising gimmick?? Where I work we sell TV guide and I've seen alot so far from Vegas and NY but not alot about Miami- please tell me this is some gimmick. If not- we need to start doing somthing about it NOW! Barbara

Wow....if this is true......Can't imagine it is, Miami is, at least, more popular than NY, so if they would cancel 1 of the shows, I would think it would be NY.........I did hear something about an actor-strike coming up though.....does anyone know anything about that, and would that also include the CSI-actors? It's not real. It's just something to get your attention and to convince you to click on something. Don't worry. Miami's ratings still have it in the top 10 or 15. It's gonna stick around for a while. Now...for the strike...it's very possible, sadly. SAG (screen actor's guild) is seriously contemplating striking. And, yes. It would DEFINITELY affect Miami. How awful would that be? By the way...a SAG strike would most likely be MUCH more difficult to resolve than a WGA (Writer's Guild of America) strike. Grrrrr... em

In the newspaper account I read today, one of the reason's they are considering striking again is because all the things that TPTB agreed to in the previous strike have not been put into place and the union members are getting concerned about that. Once again, it seems the power structure is forcing the union to take a stand. Sorry state of affairs.

Let's hope a strike won't be necessary.....I don't think it would do any good to the shows to have another strike relatively short after the previous one........... Sandra

thanks! When i saw that I freaked out a bit, then when I saw that they were not in the top 10 the same week, but NY was I was concerned. Miami tended to be around #6 last year. As for the strike, I understand what they are concerned about. BUT coming right after the writers strike will really clobber TV and public opinion. The damage that will do to the economy in LA (espcially after the fires) would be ugly. I think (personally) that they ought to sign ONLY a 1 year contract, and make a big deal that this is to make sure they don't damage the economy would be the way to go. That way they can use it as great marketing - the SAG cares more than the studios about the LA economy. Besides they need to do some marketing so the public will understand that they are not being greedy but trying to protect the little guys.
