Since the board is a little slow today, I thought I'd see if we can pep it up a touch. Here's the idea:
Let's pretend that CSI:Miami is in need of one more character --- you! Tell us how you would fit into Horatio's life. Who would you be? Why would Horatio need you? And how would the entire show be improved if you were a part of the cast?
CAUTION: This could be a lot of fun, but it will get old fast and head into oblivion if we all say we are Horatio's lover and bedroom scenes would improve the show. Let's just assume that's very true for all of us and travel down a less volitile path. I'll start, just in case you need a little encouragement.
I enter Horatio's life as his nearly forgotten aunt. I show up at the lab one day with Madison in tow. Susie has overdosed and died. I am now Madison's legal guardian but I can't raise a 10-year-old by myself so I am moving in on my nephew --- lock, stock and barrel. That Horatio is in a state of shock is an understatement. That we are welcome is not entirely apparent and many episodes would address the problems of Horatio's instant family. Aunt Hortense is not shy and is totally willing to butt in anywhere she sees an opportunity to "contribute". Will she bring a sense of order in H's life or will chaos rein? Stay tuned.
Now let's hear from you.

Seeing H's face when good ol' Aunt Hortense shows up would be a perfect moment for a screen cap. Would she be cooking him home made dinners and actually making him go to bed at a reasonable hour? Would she be hiding all of his dark colored shirts and only leave the light colored (and non-striped) ones in his closet? Would she tell him to get his hair cut? (That one's for you, Lu.) I could see them butting heads...but eventually really growing to admire each other. I think Aunt Hortense could be a nice addition to the show, and a striking contrast to 'hot young things' we have on there now. (Not that you're not hot, Karen ) em

@em
Although I do have rather awesome cleavage (far too much of it) Aunt Hortense would not go there. One thing she'd do for sure, though, is sit him down in a kitchen chair, wrap a towel around him and trim that neckline. She's a whirrling dervish with a pair of barber shears!

Karen..........I love the back of his neck as Emily knows......so do not.....please do not trim too much of his hair line and do not nick his neck with those barber shears in your haste to get at it. I do not want to see Horatio bleeding......I don't like blood. Love your storyline........you are far too clever for me.

@margaret:
Hortense is a bit aggresive with those shears, to be sure. I am not so much worried about the neckline, though. I'm afraid she might give her nephew a tonsure. Holy Horatio!!

Karen.......looks like I am going to say please to Hortense all night then.......I know some of us think Horatio is a holy saint...........but, please not a tonsure.
BTW....the fact you said Holy told me what you were meaning.......but. I had to look up the word tonsure........never heard that one before.

this is a good one!! i have often thought about this but never thought about putting it up here!! i even have a name for my character! LOL
i would be Dr. Anna McBreadle, qualified dermatologist. born and raised in St. Albans just outside London. A* student at school so won a scholarship at a top boarding school! she liked boarding school as her mum was a drunk and brought home a different bloke every night. her sister was always in trouble with the law!! after qualifying at uni, she worked as a dermatologist for a year or two but got bored of it so went into forensics in London. she'd always dreamt of working in america so when she had the chance to go work over in miami she applied and got the job!!
she also has a wide knowledge of knives and blades as she took fencing up at boardin school as a way to vent and was fascinated with them! she has alot of contacts regarding illegal shipments of knives and blades which would come in handy whilst working in miami!!
in the romance department she's not very successful! she'd never date anyone from work (too complicated)!! but she's on the look out for that somone special!!
oh yeah, and she doesn't get on well with stetler!! they often get into arguements which have to be broken up by another team member!! stetler complains to horatio about anna but horatio always tells him that shes a spirited and outspoken lady! stetler hates that!!
i know i've given this too much thought but i had alot of time to think before i started college!! LOL luv sam x
p.s. i chose the name anna as ive always liked that name! LOL

Sounds to me like Dr. Anna doth protest too much. Arguments with Stetler now will surely turn to romance later on! Great senario, though. Stetler needs a very strong woman. I just knew others placed themselves into the storyline like I sometimes do.
Karen
P.S. Margaret: Why do you think Friar Tuck wears that little beanie on his head? And what about Brother Cadfael? I'm truly surprised, but it just goes to show that a person can learn something new every day. (And please do not say "Who's Friar Tuck?" My dear Engllish friend, I'd faint dead away, I'm sure.
