It would also stop future readers from ressurrecting an old story and bringing it back up to the top amongst the current on going stories, completely spoiling the line up. Personally, I think there should be two fan fiction sections........One for current on going stories and a second section for finished stories.......completed stories being relegated to the second section after say a period of 6 months. But, that is just my opinion. Margaret I agree with you Margaret about that. Sorry, maybe it's me, but lately this situation it's been very uncomfortable and confusing. Gonsy

This has been bugging me for a while too... Though I think we have three kinds of stories.... Completed, In progress, and the 'unfinished' - stories written by board members who are no longer around. Maybe splitting the single thread into three would be the best way? It would certainly help me when I do the fanfic awards! Lucy

I think that would be quite a lot of work for Krystal, moving the stories from 1 place to another. I think part 1 for stories "in progress" that are updated frequently and completed stories. And part 2 for unfinished stories. The completed stories can be moved to part 2 about 6 months after they were completed. That way it's not so much moving around for Krystal and still synoptic for all members. Sandra

Mhm.. in most of the German Boards.. there are only two "categories" or "folders" so to say. There is the one for all the stories that are still in progress and then there's the one which contains the finished ones . Once you've finished your story you have to mention that in the header like.. "Horatio and the Rabbit (complete)" so the moderator or admin knows that he can move it to the archive, after a few weeks or so..
In this archive you can also find unfinished stories (that haven't been updated for.. I don't know how many months or where the author had announced he wouldn't finish it anyway) and these are also marked with (unfinished).
I can only imagine that this is a lot of work... especially since Krystal is alone here.. but maybe she could give the one or other member the right to.. well "re-name" certain stories. I don't know if this is possible here though.
Well that were my two cents.. and I totally agree with the others here.. it would make things a lot of easier for the readers.

Ladies, I have written to Krystal. Obviously, this decision as to what is possible or practical has to be down to her. Only she will know the complications of handling something like this. But, it is worth a try ;D

Great Margaret - Whatever Krystal decides will be fine with me - after all - as people have said - she is the one that will have to do the work!

Krystal, if you need help seperating the original FanFiction-thread, I'm sure we have enough members that are more than willing to help you out (including myself). But once the seperation is made, I honestly think Krystal, being the (lonely) active moderator/administrator, should be the only one authorized to move stories from 1 thread to another. The job won't be to time-taking anymore once the seperation is made. And we don't have tons of stories every week....... Sandra

I agree. This has been bugging me too. And I think also that the fanfiction section needs to be split up into ongoing and unfinished stories. With proboards though, its kind of easy to move threads because all you have to is tick the boxes and they're moved to whichever sub-forum you want them in.

I tend to agree. I think we should split the stories up. We tend to get a few people that start the stories and then for some reason can't finish them. But like everyone has said it is up to Krystal.

I like that Idea, it would make things simpler. Some of the stories that would be good with sequels. We can use our imaginations as to how we would like it to end, even if it is in our minds. And Sandra I really didn't care that much for David Caruso until I saw him in CSI:Miami, so I understand what you are talking about. One thing though, I think that had he lived I would still be an Elvis fan.

Deborah, though I'm not really an "Elvis-fan", I love music from the 60's, even though I wasn't even born then........ Did you manage to open your PM? Sandra

Ok, so two catagories it is then. If could inlist some help if I may? Can you guys just post a quick reply on the threads themselves and let me know just simply if that story is finished, un-finished, or in progress. If someone has already done so in a thread, please do not re-post the same information.
And then I will set to work moving them where they need to be.

I think that if all authors include the words 'Complete' and 'In Progress' on the titles of their threads of their stories, that would help Krystal a lot - then all the other threads of the same name can be moved too. Would that be ok Krystal?
Then we just have to sort out the threads of people that have left us.
