Whew, you cut that one close, katpin. Hope you had a nice birthday event with your granddaughter. My oldest granddaughter becomes a teenager on Saturday with just a little party for about 45 of her closest friends. (I kid you not!). My daughter-in-law has turned into quite a hostess and very few birthdays are "low key" in that household.
Less than two-and-a-half hours to go until we're "Down to the Wire!"

Okay! Since I don't have much time I just wanna say I really liked this episode! It was awesome! I wish I had more time so I could say my thoughts on this episode but what I wanted to say is: I'm so excited yet worried about the Season Finale! Did you see Horatio!? He was laying on the ground and I found this small paragraph on CSI Files.com.
SPOILER!
So what's in store for the end of Miami's sixth season? "The season finale is awesome," La Rue revealed. "It's going to be an incredible cliffhanger. It's going to start the next season. All I'll say is that somebody gets killed, somebody else gets shot and you're not sure if they're going to make it. And then one of our other characters leaves, because Khandi [Alexander (Alexx Woods)] leaves. We have a lot going on."
I'm sure its that new ME who dies but someone else gets shot! Do you think it might be Horatio cause if anyone remembers, a while back they/we talked about Horatio possibly getting shot and leaving us at a cliffhanger, well, maybe that's that time! Maybe H gets shot...and if that happens...I'm gonna cry cause then we'll have to wait months to see what happens! And who do you think is leaving the show? I really hope it's not one of the main characters, hopefully it's someone Minor like Valera. But anyway, I'm so excited and worried about next week! Haha, sorry if I'm rambling, I'll stop now. But what do you all think?

Tonight Kurt Rossi, a private eye, initiates a plan to bring down Horatio and his team. He's on a personal vendetta and has every facet of his scheme planned down to the last detail. Seemingly, he has thought of everything ---- well, almost everything.
Our story opens with a recording of a 911 call. Someone is frantic, yelling that shots have been fired, children are in the house, someone's bleeding, etc. Based on that info, the SWAT team is justified in going to the residence, breaking in, and shooting a man who seems to be coming at them with a knife. A woman screams in the background. The woman, Lucy Maddox, tells Horatio that the SWAT team got it all wrong. Horatio tells the commander that it appears they acted on unsubstantiated information. Swat officer says they acted on "credible information." Frank says "No kids, no gun, the guy musta grabbed the knife for protection. What's happened here?" Horatio succinctly reminds him: "It's called Crime Scene Investigation."
Michael Maddox lies dead and Horatio talks to his wife, Lucy, who is hopscotching mad. She is threatening to sue the police department, blaming everyone for the death of a good man.
Ryan and Calleigh review the tape of the 911 call and determine that it came from next door. Neil Jackson, a neighbor of the Maddox's says he didn't make the call. He says it is true he disliked the guy because he wanted to add on to his house, and the neighbors objected, but he wouldn't do such a drastic thing as have him killed. But he recalls seeing someone up in a tree near his property.
Natalia examines tree and finds skin. She and Eric do the lab work on the skin and this leads them to a crooked P. I. named Kurt Rossi. "Who is this guy?" Natalia asks. "Our number one suspect," Eric replies.
Horatio talks to Kurt about the phone call, telling him it got Maddox killed. Rossi admits to working for husband who suspected his wife of cheating on him and wanted Kurt to find proof.
H asks Lucy Maddox if she was having an affair and tells her the P. I. was spying on her. Lucy tells Horatio that Peter Cullen, her husband's business partner, is a more likely candidate for watching. She says the SWAT team also damaged her husband's car. And this info does lead them to Charlie Decker, who was indeed having an affair with Lucy. Horatio discovers a card in Charlie's damaged car while Frank talks to Decker; it has Lucy's name on it. The two of them run Decker in. Decker claims innocence saying tempers rise when there is an accident. He was the one who hit Maddox's car, not the SWAT team.
Ryan and Calleigh appear in the lab trying to identify sounds on the 911 tape. It seems the #1 caller sounds female and just maybe the call did not come from the next door neighbor. So Ryan examines a nearby phone box where a telephone crewman is working and notices the wire has been spliced, sending the tape message into Jackson's house although it originated elsewhere. The phone man had to be the one to do this and he tells Ryan he did it for a little extra cash. He redialed the place where the call originated from and this leads the team to Debbie Schiffer and Peter Cullen, coworkers of Michael Maddox. Horatio and Natalia talk to Peter Cullen as Debbie is gone. He says she has a Type A personality but this all seems a bit excessive, even for her. Peter says she's been gone too long, and when Horatio and Natalia look for her, they find her in the underground garage, dead in her car.
Frank and Calleigh look for gunshot residue in the office as Cullen is now their #1 suspect. Finding nothing on his hands, Calleigh takes his jacket and Frank finds the gun. They arrest Cullen.
Horatio encounters Kurt outside the lab. Rossi says he is working for Debbie and says Peter Cullen is not Horatio's guy. He tells H: "I have eyes and ears everywhere." "So do I," retorts Horatio.
Now for a very interesting development of longstanding storylines. Remember the episode where Calleigh got kidnapped? She found a "to do list" and we thought it belonged to one of the perps (well at least I did). Stetler enters the lab where Calleigh is working on the gun Frank found and tells her she has compromised evidence because of this list (Don't ask me why --- I could not see any sense in this). He takes Calleigh off the case even though she is a 10 year veteran of the force. Rick seems sympathetic, saying the system isn't perfect. Calleigh reminds him that the system, while not perfect, demands perfection from them.
Eric and Calleigh now have Something to Discuss. It seems she knew that the to-do list belonged to him. "Are you okay?' she asks. "We never talk about it," she says, referring to his brain injury. He tells her he is still in therapy, is taking medication and making notes sometimes helps although he has never had to refer to them. He wants to tell Stetler the list is his but Calleigh tells him she is already off the case and he should stay on: "Work the case for us," she pleads.
Eric then goes to Ryan and the two of them examine the now frozen suit jacket of Peter Cullen. It does not show gunshot residue but does show gunshot miss. "You got him," Ryan tells a smiling Eric.
When Eric and Ryan confont Peter, they find Rossi with him. It seems Peter has a recording of a priveleged conversation between Eric and his therapist. Kurt says he'll post the tape on YouTube if they arrest Cullen. They don't.
Eric talks to Horatio telling him they have both he and Calleigh. "Two down," he says. "We're going to destroy him first," H promises Delko.
H dons a labcoat (What? Again?) and goes to the garage where Decker's damaged car is. He and Natalia discuss how paint could get where it was and determine that Decker had to hit his breaks, causing Maddox to hit him.
Horatio tells Decker how he knows Charlie is under Rossi's control because he threatened to expose his affair with Lucy to Michael. Horatio tells him he can continue to protect Kurt or start talking. He tells H how he was told to stage the accident but won't give him the rest of the story. Horatio tells him that Rossi is blaming him and Charlie starts to dance the dance.
Tango music accompanies a montage of outdoor sidewalk cafe setting where Rossi and Cullen are sitting at a table. Decker appears and tries to get Rossi to talk. It's all too obvious for Rossi, however, who reaches across the table and rips a "wire" from Charlie's chest and informs him that his life is about to come to an end. Charlie whines and says he'll keep his mouth shut, do the time and not implicate them. While Kurt and Peter discuss what they did, they do not notice one red-haired CSI quietly listening and getting the conversation recorded. Once Kurt spies Horatio and sees which way the wind is blowing, he tries to cut a deal on the spot, implicating the other two. Horatio tells him it is all meaningless now.
One last scare and it is a good one: Calleigh and Eric are in Peter Cullen's vault. They have one last, brief conversation about Eric's note and the two agree to keep things quiet. As they look at the vault ,which is filled with discs, they start to read the names on these discs: Julia Winston, Eric Delko, and Lt. Horatio Caine.

First, let me say....Brava, Karen, on an excellent review. Very clear, easy to understand, and yet not too little or too much.
Now...about the episode itself. WOW!! I honestly think season 6 has been solid from start to (almost) finish! Having Tom Seizmore guest star was a stroke of genius. He's a fantastic actor, and the chemistry he had with David was really impressive! I hope we see him around again. It would be a pity if he only guests once....
The end of the episode....I was not surprised to see H's name on the disc. I actually expected it.....but that's not to say I wasn't excited by it. I like how they're bringing up H's past this season...first with Riaz...and now with whatever is on that disc. And the closing shot of H standing alone in front of an orange sky....will almost certainly go down as one of the classic shots.
The preview for next week.....I'll try not to give anything away.....BUT......I definitely let out a big "WHAT?!?!" when I saw the final seconds of it. Again....I'm not that surprised by what they appear to be hinting at....but still....if they go through with it......they'll have one hell of a cliffhanger!
Next Monday is going to be interesting....

Great review once again Karen & yes I did cut it quite close. My apologies. Last night was an okay ep for me. Best part I enjoyed was when Calleigh admitted her feelings for Eric to him. That just thrilled me. Also her going head to head with Stetler again. I enjoyed it in After the Fall & Under Suspicion. Can't wait to see next wks ep. Looks good.
