Thanks for your kind words. Will see how the season develops regarding continuing these reviews. This episode was so good it was easy to write. My cold is a big nuisance right now and I did not proof-read what I wrote. Please forgive the spelling errors and misplaced period and whatever else you may discover.
I failed to mention the removal of the necktie. Wasn't that a wonderful gesture, foretelling Horatio's future wardrobe? It did not happen until after he was made head of the new CSI lab. Also noticed that no one called him "H". But failed to notice the Miami skyline. Thanks for the "heads-up" on that one, em.
Not only did they give a nod to Speed's future employment, they even mentioned Megan who apparently was working another case. And yes, Frank's bushy mustache and hair provided comic relief, intentioned or not. He was great in the few moments we saw him.
But Caruso just popped all the way through. From running through swamp water, to being more talkative and moving around more we not only saw his younger looks, but he showed he was a younger man as well. Wonder how hard that was on the aging thespian?? But the famous Caruso acting style was in evidence near the end. As the murder victim's husband is released from jail, he meets Horatio's eyes. Not a word was said but a nod of thanks was given and Horatio, eyes unwavering, nodded back. Not a word was needed. A "Caruso" moment to be sure.
