Hehe, Yeah,
When I wrote to him I confessed two things that no one else in my life know about.. and told him about the situation with my parents. The Divorce... and when I did, and I wrote in the letter that he'd saved my life that one night, well it felt good to know that maybe he knew.
That maybe he'd read my letter, and realized what he'd done for me.
Because I dont think anyone else would have had that power at that time, I was so down and depressed, and I told him that, and all of those feelings washed away.
I think to that even just knowing that he knows we're looking up to him as our hero, is enough for me too,
Because I dont think he realizes how many lives he's changed, weither it be with Horatio Caine, or another character he's played,
I personally like to believe that my love for Horatio is because David saved my life, and that is why I'm so obsessed..
But your all right.
And what you say is true..
Hehe.

Mr. Caruso has made it known loud and clear that he considers himself a sober drunk (his words, not mine). He has embraced a program to help alchoholics and I think this is why he really understands how important it is for someone to simply write down what is bothering them and share it with him.
Regarding his not answering letters, we always consider how busy he is these days, but have we considered this: DC has received over 100 letters from a stalker, some of them threatening his life and the lives of his family. For what it's worth (absolutely nothing), this is what I think: I think the FBI and people hired for this specific problem are screening his mail. If anything seems beyond the norm of a simple fan letter, I think it gets discarded and he never sees it. In my weird mind I can imagine three piles: The Stalker pile (turn over to FBI) lengthy letters full of pathos (discard pile) and brief, to the point, fan letters (forward to him). The reason I am thinking like this is because the time element seems right. He stopped answering letters about two years ago and this is about the time the stalker problem arose. We don't discuss bad stuff happening to DC on this board, but there are other boards dedicated to trying to flush out this awful person, and I'm sure we have all seen them.
But hope exists in all of us and I do not mean to be so discouraging. If something horrible happened to you and just writing it down and mailing it to someone whose own journey has had its tough spots, by all means continue to reach out to him. I am only trying to get you to think that DC's fan mail might get examined by those collecting evidence against his stalker.
Does this sound like one of those far-fetched CSI:Miami plots? Maybe I've been watching too much TV!

You could be right on it, Karen. I even read somewhere that at a certain point the "Stalker-letters" were adressed to his personal home-adress instead of his fan-box, which I think is very scary in such case. Very well possible his letters are screened. I personally never actually wrote him a letter (if you don't include Christmas-cards, that is ), but I do hope that those of you who did have the courage to do so, are lucky enough to hear from him some day. Ditto from me. I have had the same "far-fetched" thoughts Karen. I don't think they are so far-fetched. I suspect that is partly why David uses pre-autographed cards. It sets a certain boundary as well as being efficient. I have never written either and I hope one day some of you will hear from him or even someone on his behalf. But most all, writing in itself to someone we respect and admire is powerful as some of you have found. And how wonderful for David to know there are 2 years of letters for him, mostly positive.

Yes Congrads To Everyone Whom Has Written David! I Have Only Been A Member Here Myself For Over A Year! I Just This Year (as I Posted Earlyier On This Subject). Wrote To The Address Myself. Nothing Sexual Only To Him & His Someone,Family. I Would NEVER write Anything That Would Hurt Anyones Feelings. I Have 2 Much Respect 4 All Involved! But Those Of You Whom Are Contemplating! JUST DO IT! It Doesn't Hurt A Thing! As Others Have Said "Hey It May Change Your Life." And I Don't Know Many People On Here Personally. But Care Deeply About You All! That's My Book 4 2 Day!

@ Karen....totally agree with u.....It is what I have always believed that the FBI has his mail and are slow about getting it back to him.....and he does have a very busy schedule...if I never get an answer it's okay by me....as long as he keeps making me drool every Monday I'm a happy camper!

When ever I have written David a letter or sent him a christmas card I've always put my name and address on the back of the envelope, to me Karen has hit the nail on the head.

Two years now.....In March coincidentally and right at the start of you know what although I didn't know it at the time. Enclosed envelope and voucher for postage as well. Will nevertheless keep fingers crossed and I am anyway genuinely very happy for you. It is great to know someone on this board has received something from him.

I am working on a letter - I got a new address to write him I found - and I'm putting everything that he did for me in it - and sending one of my Senior Pictures that I took when I graduated - and hoping that he sends me a picture Signed. I would absolutly die. Litterally - if I opened my mailbox and found a letter! I would HIT THE GROUND. Roll around and just thank god. XD Congrats!
