No secret with me... NYPD Blue... right from the pilot..... Early 1990's, I nearly fell of my bed when they showed the scene with Janice back at JK's place... Need I say more...

On a lonely evening after an exhausting day... I first thought that there was nothing interesting on TV, switched from one chanel to the next and then got stuck in the CSIM-episode of "Lost Son". After that this show and especially that man hooked me!  |

I don't know. How about that? I saw the thread, I tried to remember but I couldn't!
It’s like I always liked him! He always seemed familiar. I hope I'm having some sense here because quite frankly I don't remember the first time I saw him. Mid '90s I think and Hudson Hawk (stupid film, I know! but he was great).

About 4 weeks ago! Can you believe that??? I looked up at the TV, saw this guy I have seen lots of times before, and went.......WOW! Is this guy sexy! Started watching a few Youtube vids and that was it! Gone for all money!
Don't ask me what my hormones were doing that day but the effect has lasted.

I have my mom to thank for that.  She called me to say that there was going to be a new CSI. She knew I didn't really liked the first one, but this one I HAD to watch because the guy playing Michael Hayes was going to be the leader of the team. I didn't know who MH was. LOL My mom told me that it was the most charming and sexy man she ever saw on tv. Well, I did watch and was head over heels.....the most sexy and hot red head I have ever seen. That is also the reason why I bought NYPD. In Holland the serie started after DC left and Jimmy Smith took over.  And now I own almost every movie where David played in. Me, Well....I'd been slowly pulling myself into the plot line of CSI:MIA and well...Horatio said the one sentance that got me hooked.
Megan: You miss it dont you being on the front lines?
Horatio: The simple answer is no.
Megan: Why leave something your good at?
Horatio: You ever bet on a horse race?
Megan: (Shakes Head) life's too much of a gamble.
Horatio: Some horses ride better in a harness, and, the science is my dicipline.
OH YEAH.
Gah, and then I just kept watching and well, I fell in love, and got obsessed and one thing led to another, and well...Now I have pictures of DC all over my walls and my wallpapers on my computers are of him....and I have like 109439358 bazillion quotes by him on my walls as well, and...When CSI miami monday rolls around, I barricade myself in my room,and hit record! Yes I record the new eppies....

I first recall seeing him in NYPD Blue (1993). I watched Hill Street Blues before that but his performance did not register with me. When his famous departure from "Blue" hit the media, I thought he acted like a kid who wanted his own way and when he couldn't get it, he left in a huff. That is how the media presented him. So, like "Hollywood", I just forgot about him. Then I saw Proof of Life and remembered what I saw in him years before. The charm, the humor, the intensity --- it was all there in that small performance. I think he and David Morse were the real stars of that movie. "Miami" had been on for a year so I picked up the habit of watching during the Hurricane Anthony episode. When Horatio was holding the bloodied hand of the man impaled on a fence I was hooked. I have seen every episode since, and bought the first season DVD to catch up on the series' early beginnings. I now have most of his movies, all of the DVD sets of "Miami" although I have yet to watch most of season 4 as I just did not like the Marisol story line.

well I got in on DC late in the game........we didn't have a tv from 79 to 89.........then just a vcr and with 2 small kids all we bought was cartoons........got satellite in 96 but when your not use to watching tv you don't........then my Mom calls and says I gotta check out this show.......she only got 1 channel so she didn't have to much of a choice as to what to watch.........but then there was this awesomely handsome red head in front of me and I was hooked.......have bought what I could and Netflix is providing me with stuff I've never seen but I want to own everything he has ever done.........Thanks goes to Mom!

I remember falling in love with DC when he was on NYPD Blue. You know - that gorgeous guy with the red hair! Felt terrible when he left the show. Been busy living my own life between then and Feb 2007 - didn't really keep up on him. However, after hearing so much from my father - yes you heard right - my father! - about CSI Miami and this really good red headed actor I knew it had to be him and sure enough! Watched it one night and I was madly in love all over again. Now I own every CSI Miami DVD, many of his movies, NYPD Blue Seasons 1 and 2 (I only watched the four episodes when he was still on it!), tape the new CSIM shows, etc. etc. And, to me, altho he was great as John Kelly - he's even better now as H!!

CSI:Miami gave me my first taste of DC - I was a little too young to watch 'Blue' when it first aired (I think I was more into ThunderCats and Transformers and the like at that point in time!) although references to NYPD infused into popular culture so I was familiar with the general premise of the show - but I didn't watch any of it until recently. I started to watch the occasional CSI (Vegas) when they aired on TV, but was never a regular viewer, then Miami came along and there was this lead character who had so much drive and integrity that the red-haired actor caught my eye. I started to look for info on this guy Caruso, who I'd never heard of before and suddenly I was hooked. I've never gotten to like an actor so much that I buy the box sets of TV shows and movies etc but that's exactly what I find myself doing - I pre-order Miami boxsets, and have managed to hunt down even some of the more elusive films (GoldCoast, Mission of the Shark etc). Who knew what watching one episode of Miami would lead to!?!?!?! Amy |

I used to watch CSI Las Vegas, and when CSI MIAMI begans, then I "discovered" David Caruso.  My dad told me "yes, I know him from NYPD" but I had never seen him. I don't know how, but I turned myself a big fan of this man. I love him. Then I began to buy NYPD, CSI Miami Season1, (and after 2, 3 and 4) and all the movies availables in my zone. Searching anything about him in internet, having a lot of pics of him in my pc, having the good chance of seeing "Michael Hayes", and others movies on tv, and so on. Step by step knowing every day a little more about him. And, finally finding this forum and all you lovely people. |

I watched CSI Vegas but not regularly. Then there was the cross over. I loved the interaction between David and Marg and immediately I was hooked ;D I started to collect the other movies he appeared in and now I'm totally DC addicted. Hélène |
